Switch Studios is a one man crew founded by Yusuf Hoosain. His energy, enthusiasm and eye for fresh, appealing and stylish design have been well recognized by his peers and clients. Having completed a foundation in art at the Chelsea Art College and just recently graduating from the University of Westminster with a degree in Graphic Information Design, Yusuf is no stranger to real world experience. Through his portfolio of clients such as Choice fm’s DJ 279, DJ Layla, and up and coming musical artist – Kanna Ellie to name a few, Yusuf demonstrates versatility and technical and creative ability in creating corporate identities, web sites, advertisements, illustrations, album covers and promo idents. Mr switch as he likes to call himself describes his creative style as ‘fresh, funky, graphic edgy and street’ Switch’s favourite designers range from Phunk Studio, Peter Saville,123 Klan to David Carson, Banksy, Futura and Shepard Fairey. Also incorporated into his style, Switch takes inspiration from his environment, the streets, graffiti and Hip-hop music. With ambitions to promote new creative talent in Cape Town, South Africa, Switch plans to open a graphic design school, a graphic design lifestyle shop filled with a wealth of design books, trendy clothing, toys and materials, as well as a gallery showcasing new talented designers. The sky is no limit for this designer as Switch opens the door to the beginning of his creative career.
