Born on Long Island, grown in Vermont, and now repping Boston Mass, Subtex is one of the very realest emcees. His interest in hip hop developed in the late 80s and quickly turned into his teenage hobby. In 2000 he met DJ Solo, from Manchester N.H. The pair went on to work together and Solo appeared on the single "Counterclock", off the dorm room-debut album, "Vital Nerve". "Vital Nerve" was co-produced by Huck B and Swiff-Gryphin and its contents were that of an underground first release--raw and unborn. Subtex later went on to work more with good friend, Swiff-Gryphin (J.D. Kaiser) and released the single "Therapy" featuring his brother, Ontap (Jesse Kreitzer). The single was part of a 4 song "Therapy" EP, with the remaining 3 songs produced by Subtex. "Therapy" was also released as a music video, produced by Jesse Kreitzer, an aspiring filmmaker. Since the move to Boston, Subtex has developed Grounddown Records, and released two albums. "Dawn of the Dead" was released in 2005 and "Bury You" (EP) quickly followed in 2006. As of late Subtex has been working with DJ Jipeto on the self titled debut album, DEFCON. The full length disc will features the universe's own, C-Rayz Walz and Koki-Man. Available now at UGHH.com!
