J. WRIGHT AKA MR. MYSPACE
This 19 year old teen phoneme sensation has been on a wild ride since beginning his career at age 15. Growing up in the Midwest (Iowa), Justin Wright (J. Wright) has been on a roller coaster of lifetime. This Midwest kid got his first major break as a member of the 10 city UCP (Up Close and Personal Tour) as well as the B.E.T Wrapp it Up Tour in 2008. His song collaborations include such names as Chris Brown, Young Envy, Soulja Boy, Neyo, JBar and others. His roller coaster ride takes him back to Iowa where he continues to network, produce mixtapes, promote and create the next big single. With over 10,000 units moved in on his first album entitled “The Mind of a Hustla†his second album entitled “This Must be Wright†is well on its way to higher numbers. Ringtones numbers are well above 6,000 and counting.
One might say J. Wright is a chameleon by trade. Different tracks might sound more like club tracks than his signature “just for the ladies type songs†as he would put it. But listen a bit longer and you might get that stereotyped “gangsta rap†song but then by the end he is just rapping his Midwest style. Not a copy cat of East or West and far from a style of the South. J. Wright just wants to be known as himself. Unfortunately J. Wright AKA Mr. MySpace is now re building after hackers stole his acclaimed MySpace profile which at date had over 2.3 million plays and over 2.5 million views. Not to mention well over 150,000 fans and friends. Ask if this was a set back? “No not at all.†J. Wright says. “You can’t hold back real success and talent and it has proven a humbling experience for me. My fans and friends and important industry people know the truth and that’s what is most important to me. I will be just fine.†And indeed J. Wright will be fine. With this young mans bright future still beaming you can be sure to see more of J. Wright to come.
D BOY AKA THE 110% TRUTH
Don’t under estimate the style and delivery of Demetrius Logan. This 26 year old rapper has grown up seeing more than his fair share of life. And to this Midwest born son of Illinois his Texas roots are as strong as his love for the Midwest. Having lived in Nebraska to the ruff streets of Chicago to the calm areas of Iowa and falling to the hot Texas streets, he has gathered all the travels and life lessons and now has established himself as only he can proclaim, “My name is D Boy†You would think that his young man with all that he has seen and experienced would have fallen to the streets. Instead, he has cleaned and polished himself up and focused 100% on his music… and it shows. Having performed on the stages with names such as Yo Gotti , Tum Tum, Koo Koo Cal, and opening act for Juvenile, Tum Tum, D.S.R (Down South Riders), Yo Gotti, Pimp C and U.G. K, D Boy provides a down South flow with a Midwest flavor that is eagerly a new and exciting style. When asked who he would compare his style to, “I am me, the 110% truth. Nothing that comes from me is made up or fake. It’s what I’ve seen and experienced in life. I want to bring back truthful music, real music, and honest music.†Some of his musical style also comes from his roots with Funked up Musik producer SydStyle and T Balla, C.E.O of A Real One Records. “I’ve been working with them on and off for quite a few years now. “ D Boy states, “I also collaborated with artists Lil French, Jon Won, Lil Seed, DJ Scratch Master Dee, Caliko, Big Won, Pimp T and Supa Dupa Wayne which are all out of Dallas Texas or the Quad Cities area (Iowa and Illinois)†With his debut album coming called “Love, Life, Loyaltyâ€, D Boy will show all his unbelievers just what type of caliber he has prepared himself for. With a diversity of tracks, listeners can expect club tracks, high way music, gangster raps, and of course something for the ladies. So if there is anymore doubt in this young man his past, present, and future will only keep you guessing as to what, where and when. His success is proven and his greatness will be legendary.
DJ K Yung (This ain't ya average Female)
DJ K Yung also known as Rachel H. (Owner and artist manager of Seoul Sound Entertainment/Management) was born in Seoul South Korea in 1983. Abandoned after birth, the orphanage in Seoul named her Shin Kyung Ban. She then took Kyung and established now, DJ K Yung. (Pronounced kay ~ young) After being adopted as a baby, DJ K Yung fell in love with music which was inspired by her new adopted family at the earliest age she can remember. "My mother was (and still is) a church choir director and singer, and my father sings as well, along with many relatives who are music teachers, dancers, and music majors, it was in me all along." say DJ K Yung. "My parents enrolled me when I was just only 3 years old in a music program called Suzuki. I learned how to play the violin and cello all by ear." she recalls. She didn't pick up the ear for DJ’ing until she was 17 years old. "I remember messing around on vinyl when I was at my friend’s house back in high school. We started really getting into it after sometime, and he and I ended up purchasing better equipment. Nothing came about after that though." She states. "He got into trouble with the law so I ended up selling it after I found out he wasn't coming home." She didn't pick back up until almost 6 years later when she was asked to DJ for a graduation party. "My friend asked me if I knew any DJ's available for her sister graduation party since I was already in the music business. I couldn't think of any on the short notice she gave me and then the idea came to me that I thought I could do it. I had to tell her though, it had been awhile. "It had been so long in fact that the equipment had to be rented for the event. Not anymore. DJ K Yung now owns 2 Technics (DZ1200), Dennon mixer, and Mackie sound board. And just in case she needs to put on a show for her artists (she manages 2 artists) J.Wright (Rap) and Radamez (Hip Hop) she has 2 JBL Eons and 2 Shure cordless microphones ready to go at any moment. With the fast paced success of her career as a DJ, K Yung has virtually been unstoppable. She currently is an active member in three DJ coalitions (Fleet DJs/ Future Star DJs/ Slip N Slide DJs), radio DJ at KALA 88.5, concert DJ and tour DJ as well. Her interview roster is long and it includes names such as Murphy Lee (Derrty Ent), Big Duke (Block Ent/Bad Boy South), Bigg Jigg (Koch Records), JC (Block Ent/Bad Boy South), and more. "I am so excited for the future of all of us. (Seoul Sound Entertainment) We are trying to save this poorly stereo typed music genre and bring to light the beauty of it all. My goal is to change the way you listen to music."
RADAMEZ
brHow does one make music that not only speaks to your body, but also speaks to your soul? What does it take to make music that has the ability to transcend time? How does one make music that feeds the minds of people, despite the differences in gender, class and geography? The answer is not a complicated one. You simply make music that comes from the heart. During a time of dance-themed songs and repetitive subject matter, Radamez has managed to answer all those questions with his release of “Innovativeâ€. Radamez, born Ramel Joseph Williams, prides himself on making music of substance. He draws inspiration from Jay-z and Lauryn Hill, which has enabled him to bring a unique style and abrupt aura to the studio and the stage. He writes lyrics as if he were asking himself, “How can I feed the hip-hop nation?†He breathes life into this notion with his carefully crafted album, “Innovative†Radamez empathizes with those who have dreams of having more than their finances will allow on the song “Ucanthadatâ€. He offers hope to those who may be struggling with the pressures of life on “Turn the Pageâ€. “The Archeologistâ€, the leading track, lets the world know what Radamez is bringing to the rap game. “Innovative†definitely has all the necessary ingredients to entertain, inspire and provoke thought. Radamez’s story may have a familiar sound, but his execution of life definitely distinguishes him from others. He was born and received many of life’s lessons in Corona Queens, New York. He later moved from Queens to Kansas, where he pursued a college education and received a great deal of accolades for his performance in the sport of Track and Field. Upon graduation, with a B.S. in Psychology, Radamez returned to New York with hopes of finding employment in his field. Unsuccessful in this endeavor, he then moved to Indianapolis, where his passion for music resurfaced. Described as his most notable release to date, “Innovative†is actually not his first release. “Innovative†is his third effort, which is preceded by “Listen to What Radamez Sez†and “The Unexplainedâ€. Radamez values growth and continues to evolve with each album. He has managed to introduce his unique style of hip-hop to various venues in the Indianapolis area such as Indiana Black Expo’s Star Quest and Music Lounge, Spin Night Club, Ice Lounge and Slamology. He has also traveled to various states such as Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and others, giving audiences his brand of conscious hip-hop. An artist first, Radamez is also President and co-owner of Concrete Beats LLC, an Indianapolis based production and entertainment company. Radamez along with CEO/producer Seany D and other label mates have been able to guide Concrete Beats to a podium of popularity. Radamez is an exceptional example of hip-hop’s potential for growth. He plans to venture out into other facets of the entertainment industry. A management company, clothing line and acting are just a few of his aspirations. Future projects include releasing “Innovativeâ€, the DVD, in which he is teaming up with GRIND TV. Radamez is set to offer his fourth release in the fall of 2008.
C
The life of Marquavias Hughes is one of struggle and hope. Born into a drug using home, Marquavias also known as C grew up at the bottom of world so to speak. "I was raised in a drug broken home." reminisces C "So I know how it feels to be broke, struggling and be an outcast. Just simply at the lowest point of life. It was a lot of things that I saw in my lifetime that has made me the man that I am today. I used to feel like it was a curse but now I understand I had to go through that to get stronger." Although C now constantly reminds himself of the troubles of his past, his music has been able to take him to new heights that he himself believes has made him into the artist he is today. " I went from doing music as a hobby to performing in little local area shows, to opening up for big name acts like Young Jeezy and Weebie." says C "Its been going up ever since for me." Of course there are still the problems of the past that haunt him. With him getting wrapped up in the street life he is now coming off a 3 year sentence and probation that now has him completly freed from the past. "Its time for a change. Its time to see what everyone has been missing in Midwest music. It doesnt matter where you come from, how big your city is or how bad your life was. Anyone can get caught up in a negitave way. Even out here in Iowa." So with a new outlook in life, drama free, C seems to have his sights on bigger and better things. "I'm now with a managment company, Seoul Sound Entertainment and Management and Rachel (the owner) has been working with me to get to that next level." That in opinion is an understatement. C is getting ready to relase a mixtape, a major promotional marketing launch as well as just locking down a single with two of the biggest artists out right now. "I can't say as of now who the collaboration is with but I can say is that I am on the right path and making all the right desisions and will show the music world you can't live with out C." It does seem that the world is indeed in need of a little C and with the way things are going you can expect to see a lot coming from this young man.
