About Me

Search: Noelle Andressen at IMDb
I've stopped acting and started dancing again. Some say I'm crazy, but I'm in love with my life for a change. I'm actually happier dancing...now what's that saying? I love filmmaking, but the business of it all sucks. I have more control dancing and I don't have to be someone's "whore". Sorry but I get tired of the Hollywood stuff, "Hey hottie, why don't you sit on my lap for a while..."
In the past 1 1/2 years dancing I've had more success than I have with filmmaking/acting. I think I've found my true calling. I've done 12 shows, choreographed 16 dances for various venues, performed in I don't know how many productions/dances, competed in several competitions, and I will have my AA in dance from Moorpark this summer. Then I'm heading for CSUN to get my MA in Dance. What then...? I have no idea. This is the fun part...the journey.
I haven't completely given up on acting, it's just taking a back seat for now. But not totally...dancing is acting to music.

Before I talk about my acting career...
All right, that cat didn't just get let out of the bag--it was yanked out! Yes, I am also the lead singer for Amoureux. You caught me-lol. As you'll see, I do many things not only in entertainment (see link below). Life's worthy of living and I plan to live it fully and do whatever God puts to my hands. This sojourn of life has had some great tragedies mixed with triumphant successes. I don't pretend to understand why, it just is. All I know is that I need to keep fighting the good fight and spread love through my talents.
As for Amoureux: Our band's newest album was due out Feb. 10, 2007 our anniversary. As you all know, this has changed due to distribution woes.
BUT - where there's a cloud, there's also a ray of sun light above the stormy weather. We will release this year, only not on the desired date. Sorry guys. Thanks for hanging in there with us. We've loved ALL of your eMails, letters, and calls. Y'all rock! Oh and to answer a very popular question: YES, most definitely I'd be more than happy to sign a photo and send it your way. Just send me a message with your snail mail addy and I'll ship one out to ya. Be sure not to post it on my profile page though, unless you want a lot of people sending ya stuff ;o)
The first single is a rock ballad: His Passion. We're going to be releasing this on MySpace soon. We have a my space account for Amoureux if you'd like more information.

Noelle's Acting Story aka Where It All Started
My passion for the film arts began at an early age when my Nana made me watch Bette Davis movies on the weekends. She wanted to be an entertainer and could act and sing, she was also a great artist. So the blame for my unquenchable desire to entertain came from her. I love you Nana. You made great sacrifices and all the grand kiddies appreciate you.
I not only act in films and television shows, but also produce my own projects with my co-partner in every sense of the word. Our documentary Baby Doe's Heartbeat garnered a total of 5 Emmy nominations one of which was for our romantic and dramatic music composition. The other nominations were for writing and producing.
Who inspired me most as far as the acting craft? Many were Hollywood Legends: Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Susan Hayward and some of today's renowned actresses: Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. I gotta add Kate Winslet. I love her portrayals.
The films that truly give me heart: Braveheart, Gone with the Wind, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Apollo 13, Schindler's List, and Gladiator.
They're little treasure chests I hold in my heart and open them on rainy days and times of struggle (we all have them). These films show the human spirit is quite indomitable. Humanity perseveres and strives to achieve great things under tremendous duress. Other people's hope and perseverance is what motivates and encourages me most. I hope to produce films that give others hope.
I also love a great adventure or romance like Ladyhawke, The Mummy, The Rock, Kill Bill and so many others like Life Aquatic, Sideways, Happy Birthday Gemini, The Magic Christian...some oldies but goodies in there too.
I don't know if it's possible for a gal to get lucky enough to work with one fantabulous director let alone 2 in her career, but I'd be honored to work with: M. Night, Peter Jackson, Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, Ridley Scott, Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, Rob Reiner, Ron Howard, Richard Donner, and adoringly Garry Marshall--thanks for Laverne and Shirley.
I'd love to meet all of these people. Actually, I just met Mr. Garry Marshall at one of his play openings. I have nothing but praise for him, a very gracious man. Mr. G., you're tops! I'd also love to work with some of my long time director/actor friends.
I just met this great director that I just gotta work with someday: Jeff Burr. He was a guest teacher in my acting class and immediately I felt a great connection with him. Look up his credits on IMDb. Quite impressive. Anyhow, I had to add him to my list because he's phenomenal.
Hollywood's Hey Day and Queen Elizabeth's Reign
The only other time periods I would have wanted to live in would be the 1940s-50s and the Renaissance. There was great regal style and class. Women knew what they had, used it, and dressed it. These periods are some of the ones I'd like to do projects in.

Below is what I do when I'm not doing film making/music. This was "my baby" other than my real baby son. When you read the links that are on this other page, you'll understand what I mean by "my baby". It was birthed forth with just as much pain and suffering as my real baby and yet has a wonderous beauty that transcends my poor attempt to express it in words.
The Silver Ribbon Campaign
My Heartstrings...
One too many TV news stories about babies being found behind casinos, dark alleys, bathrooms, and....uuggh, my heart aches for these little ones. It's a horrible travesty. This is what prompted me to do something about it. I did 2 years of research and filmed a documentary about preventing baby dumping. It aired and garnered 5 Emmy noms. While it was heart wrenching work, I knew it had to be done. How can one not respond to this kind of knocking on one's heart? Hope these efforts helped, but we may never know the depths of it.
I am also proud to be a founder and sponsor of the above mentioned Silver Ribbon campaign for the baby abandonment cause. We have chosen the silver ribbon as the color for this cause for a reason. It symbolically stands for a baby's silver feeding spoon. Another reason is for the analogy of how silver needs to be refined in the fire as much as our awareness about this issue.
We donate our time and production services to produce public service announcements and radio announcements to get the word out that there are "Safe Places" to lay your baby. A trash bin is not one of them.
Can you imagine over 105 babies dumped in something like this:

Sad Stats...
The US Department of Health and Human Services, counted 105 babies nationwide (in one year) who were dumped by mothers who felt there was no other alternative. That was how many were found, there are countless ones that weren't.
