Seattle Film Festival:
1 Reel Film Festival:September 1-3 at at SIFF Cinema
For the second year in a row, Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) will curate the 12th annual 1 Reel Film Festival, presented by Seattle Center. This year's festival will feature more than 100 short films within 27 special programs on varying themes, PLUS SIFF Fly Films 2007, Best of SIFF Jury Prize Winners and Best of SIFF Audience Award Winners.Also, iconoclastic indie film director John Sayles shows clips from his upcoming film Honeydripper, a story that captures the moment of transition from the Blues to Rock 'n Roll, followed by a Q&A session. As a companion piece, Bumbershoot will also host a performance by, Honeydripper All Stars, the house band from the film.
The Grand Cinema:
In 2007 Tacoma will host its 2nd annual Tacoma Film Festival from October 4th to the 11th. The Tacoma Film Festival (TFF) seeks to show the best films available from independent filmmakers. We showcase the films in several venues throughout the city of Tacoma making it a truly citywide event. The primary hub for the festival is The Grand Cinema, Tacoma's only non-profit, art house movie theater. Films will also be shown at the Tacoma Art Museum and the School of the Arts (SOTA) over the weekend of October 6-7
