Formed in early 2000, Reason For Being, a Long Island based band, started churning out a furious blend of hardcore and metal. Entering the studio that same year they recorded a three song demo of unrelenting hardcore, that was hard hitting and straight to the point. The band then began playing countless shows on Long Island, Queens and even reaching into Jersey. After numerous line-up changes Reason For Being entered the studio again to record the self-released The Day That Changed All ep. This release saw an evolution in the bands sound, bringing more musical dynamics and displaying the talent and varied influences each member brought to the table. The band developed a following playing repeatedly at Castle Heights and The Redzone and shared the stage with national acts like All Out War, Diecast and NYCs Irate. In 2003 Reason For Being decided to call it quits, playing their final show at The Redzone in Queens, until August 2007 when all five members returned after four years. Reason For Being is back in full force and is currently working on new material.
