I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Howdy ----------I'm just exploring the world here at myspace to get to know new folks, likewise to share and learn from other artists, creatives, funny folk and potential friends. ----------I'm a hopelessly creative kind of guy, who enjoys what he does for a living and works a lot but enjoys time away to be with friends, pets, nature and entertainment. A trip to the foothills to see what's new in wildflowers or little towns about the area -- or a walking tour of downtown to look at architecture and art. Finding a great hole-in-the-wall for Sunday brunch or some interesting theatre for a live production -- finding a new (to me) nursery to check out plants and garden decor -- many things or just sitting in front of the tube laughing at Eureka or the Simpsons with friends. The basic idea is to be enjoying being with old friends or making new ones while I'm out living my life. ----------I am a faux finish / muralist / trompe l'oeuille (or "trompe l'oeil") artist, furniture maker, interior space designer and also work in some more varied outside projects in exterior rooms and water gardens (please feel free to check out my pics). Being creative is to follow my heart and make things of whimsey, beauty and resource. I love to do anything creative, and that encompasses all the arts, theatre, gallery openings, fine arts and paintings, museums and architecture, water garden and pond design, great recipes and eats, and just finding people who are big in heart, small in ego and open to making a friend here and learn and share the world. (if you don't see anything in the blue box above, hit your refresh button) The really great pics have to be credited to Danny Warner, professional photographer who contributes to the San Antonio Express News; who along with his journalist wife, Chrissie Murnin, have made reading the paper real nice for me. --------------------- If you like, take a visit to www.DougDanforthDesign.com and visit my website. Thanks! -------------------I'm here to do 'work', but also to take advantage of the myriad of personalities who wander here and lite on various profiles and meet very lovely folk. ----------I regularly read many profiles on myspace: provocative faces, great talents, ingrossing and very bright minds and professions. Somewhere between the stunning faces and chisled bodies, I think we'll meet in a setting of something common. Somewhat intimidating for an older guy to venture into, but I'm banking that there will be those who just might think I'm serious in friendship offers; and of course there will be those who might not. Alas ------------ And here I am. Myspace was a place I just happened to stumble onto and found I now have a hard time leaving. Kinda new to me, as I'm more of a dinosaur with online meeting and 'getting to know you's'. I have no idea what a blackberry is, and the idea of text messaging is as foreign to me as morse code. But this is how the world is now, and what the heck, I'll get into it bit by bit. ----------To see my work in a sectionally organized presentation, feel free to click onto my pic in my friends group below, the one with the sky, and Doug Danforth Design. Thanks.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd consider it a great honor to meet other like-minded folks, artists, creative types, or those who are drawn to that frame of mind. Plus folks who would like to work with me on projects as well as consider me to work for them in my field of creativity in a business relationship. ----------As for friends, it pretty much falls with folks who hold in high esteem the realm of friendship. A romance, a lover? Sure, that concept is incredibly attractive to me, but personally, I don't think those goals are attained by writing and sending pics back and forth in cyberspace. But I certainly DO believe friends can find one another as such, and that's where I've chosen to start, and should something build and energize from that friendship, then I'm a lucky guy --------------- Please give me the chance to know about you by writing to me before sending a friend request, a little more difficult, I know, but I need to know you're a real soul out there wanting to know me.
