I finally gave in to the myspace craze....and well, now I understand why it's such an obsession, and a cultural phenomenon. They're gonna start having group therapy meetings for "people addicted to myspace!" That's the truth, the power of a good idea....I love it! But anyways, here's the weird part where I talk about myself and I guess since I'm feeling kind of confused about what to tell you; I will start at the very beginning......
I was born in Lake Forest, Illinois......and grew up in the northwest suburbs. My family is a huge part of my life, they have always been there for me no matter what, I would be nothing with out them. I'm a disco/80's baby (literally) my mom is a world disco champion and continued to dance until she was 7 months pregnant with me! So yes, I have been dancing since before I was born! As Gregg Burge said, "For me dance is a nutrient, you know, it's something that I need, it's something like, you know the air we breathe, the food we eat. These are things, these are necessities. These are things we need for survival. For me, dance is a nutrient. It's my nourishment." I think expression is a very important part of being, of living and enjoying life....in your own way, in your truth. The stage, is where I feel most at home whether it's singing, acting, writing, teaching, directing, and/or learning....this is what I love. I've Been dancing since I was 2 yrs old; all over the country for different companies, tours, and teaching workshops......don't need to tell for who or for what.....that's not important, the labels in our culture change the importance and essence of what we love and why we do things. I don't like rules, authority, or school; I am very angry at the educational system (even though I think it's important for most of us....for self disciplining purposes), I don't like editorial judgments based on something that is subjective to begin with.
I trust that I will continue to learn, grow, and succeed in following my heart no matter how many people laugh at me or tell me that I have to step into the real world (which is their world and I don't want anything to do with the way they feel about reality). I will continue to dance, sing, act, write, perform, and work in an industry that "feels" instead of "thinks" and has "passion" rather than "emptiness." I love the creative process of putting on a show, the joy that comes from performing and inspiring people to live in their spirit. I started recording music 8 years ago, in Chicago....and then decided that I need to focus ..ing school.I will leave you with this;"It's [dance] your pulse, it's your heartbeat, it's your breathing. It's the rhythms of your life. It's the expression in time and movement of happiness and joy and sadness and energy. It's a venting of energy. It's extraordinary, and that's common to all cultures and it's common to all individuals." -Jacques D'Amboise"To sing well and to dance well is to be well-educated." -PLATO (c. 428-c348 B.C.)
