Tribe of Judah, Founded in October of 1997, the Tribe of Judah is a visible student organization on the campus of Alabama State University. The focus of the ministry is to witness Jesus Christ to students, surrounding cities and the nation. The Tribe of Judah is comprised of approximately 45 soldiers who are committed and dedicated to praising the Lord through singing, stepping/dancing and drama/poetry. This trinity works hand in hand to produce a well rounded, life-impacting ministry. Each member maintains such a commitment to God that they are willing to share their abilities, gifts and talents with nothing less than excellence. Each individual is able to explain the mission and vision while applying it to life. They believe that in order to succeed as a ministry they must have integrity, strength of character, and hunger for victory.
The Tribe's Choir performance includes various genres from contemporary gospel to soul stirring, inspirational hymnals. Rehearsing twice weekly ensures a thorough blending of vocal harmonies from the group. These intense practices further equip the members to execute with precision and accuracy the choreographed movements of their shows. The tremendous dedication to spread God's word keeps the choir lively and sincere when it is time to perform.
The members of the Step and Dance ministry use their bodies to create expressions. By combining chants with energetic beats created through their feet, arms, legs and hands, the steppers routines bring a fresh awakening to performances. Along with the contemporary edge of the steppers, the Dance Ministry further holds the attention of the crowd while ushering in the Spirit using more traditional expressive dance. Led by the Vice President of Dance, the Step and Dance ministries supply grace and an explosive attitude to Tribe..s mission. The Drama Team enhances the Tribe's presentation with the implementation of skits, poems, monologues and other theatrical performances. The members write and direct original pieces to fit each occasion. The drama team meets at least once a week to rehearse scripts that are moving, powerful expressions of God's love. They also share with each other scripture motivated pieces. The total atmosphere that Tribe's performances create is enhanced by the accompaniment of their musicians. All directors work in unity with each other to ensure that the performance trinity is in harmony and on one accord. The Tribe attributes their success to their willingness to hear from and abide in God and work together. The Tribe of Judah has recorded a CD-5 incorporating their special approach to Christian music. Currently, they have just released their new project entitled Sold Out, which will be distributed nationally. They are also training for international mission trips. The Tribe intends to share the message of Jesus Christ with Alabama State University, the Montgomery community and the world. The Tribe will continue to win souls for the Kingdom.Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own!
