About Me

"I loved Frank V. Ross's Quietly on By. It's a delicate mood piece centered around the life of a sensitive but lonely and lost central figure, Aaron, who is in mourning for a love affair that didn't work out and a life that seems to be on hold. This is the territory many recent films, including some of the works of Wes Anderson, have mined; but what makes Ross's film special is the authenticity of the characters, performances, and setting. Nothing is heightened or exaggerated, and none of the characters or their relationships is cartooned or caricatured. Ross beautifully captures the longing and aimlessness of a certain emotional moment all of us have experienced in our lives. It's a really wonderful film." --Ray Carney on www.Cassavetes.com, author of Cassavetes on Cassavetes and other books.______________________________________________________ _______________________This is truly gut-wrenching filmmaking in the manner in which we're made feel every giddily awkward moment. None more so than when slacker-on-the-verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown, Aaron practically breaks out in a sheen of anxious perspiration when he meets Sara'a quick-witted, cool-as-a-breeze boyfriend. With some top-notch naturalistic acting at his disposal Ross shows himself to be a master of digital filmmaking and with Quietly On By he has created a film as free of artifice as you're likely to see. --Cork Film Festival
