About Me
Lou Pardini is a Grammy nominated songwriter, multi-key boardist, singer and producer who has written for and performed with the world's finest recording artists.
Born and raised in Northern California, Lou moved to Los Angeles shortly after attending the Berklee School of Music in Boston. After spending a few years building a reputation as a singer, keyboardist and songwriter in the LA music scene, his break came when Legendary Motown artist Smokey Robinson recorded Lou's first song ever published, the Grammy nominated, "Just To See Her" which also won Smokey his first Grammy. The song reached number one status on the Billboard R&B and Adult Contemporary charts, and was Top Ten Billboard Pops for four weeks. From the very moment it was first played, "Just To See Her" was destined to be counted among the greatest all-time Motown hits.
While that song was riding high on the charts, Lou followed it with a song that he wrote for another legendary Motown group, The Temptations. "I Wonder Who She's Seeing Now" featured another hero of Lou's, Stevie Wonder as guest on harmonica! The song quickly became a number one R&B Hit.
Motown was just the start as Lou has since become one of the most prolific songwriters in the music industry. Since then, Lou has written, sung, played, produced, and performed with such varied artists as Kenny G., Carlos Santana, Patti Austin, Peabo Bryson, Nancy Wilson, Chicago, Billy Preston, Joe Sample, Martin Lawrence, Andrae Crouch, Larry Carlton, Sheila E., Helen Baylor, Eric Marienthal, Jason Scheff, Alex Acuna, Julio Iglesias, Michael McDonald, Robben Ford, Phil Driscoll, and Jamie Foxx just to name a few.
Lou has also recorded two solo CD's on JVC/Victor records: "A Night To Remember" and "Look The Other Way", and teamed up with fellow singers Kevyn Lettau and Joe Pizzulo (Sergio Mendes vocalist) to record the live CD "Memories Of Love" at the sold out Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Phillipines for Warner Music. The concert featured songs from Lou's 2 solo albums and was ranked number 1 at Tower Records and Music One/Asia for 8 consecutive weeks in October/November of 2005.
One of Lou's biggest thrills came recently when he attended the nationally televised tribute to Aretha Franklin at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. The feature song of the night was "Just To See Her" performed by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin in a duet with Smokey Robinson.
