I was born in Wales in 1635 but traveled throughout the Caribbean, fom Curacao to Panama City to Jamaica and beyond. My adventures as a buccaneer are legendary.
I became one of Britain's most successful military strategists and an inspirational leader. I gained the loyalty of unruly buccaneers who followed me without question, and won the respect of nobles and heads of state.
In 1674, King Charles II rewarded me for my devoted service to England with a knighthood and, as Sir Henry Morgan, I served as Governor of Jamaica in 1680.
Many people say I am renowned for my sociability and generosity. In fact, some consider me a minor celebrity in the rum shops and taverns of Port Royal.
