When the Devil’s infamous Band of Demons broke up after riding the wave of popularity generated by The Charlie Daniel’s Band’s smash hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgiaâ€, some members of the band decided to pursue acting, some entered politics, and one took a position at the Internal Revenue Service. However, not all were done with music. Three of the original 12 members of the Devil’s Band of Demons decided that they would assume new identities and conquer the world with sinister, raunchy, ball-breaking blues music. This is the legend of Slim Chance and the Oddbeaters; a band the likes of which the world has never seen. Individually, they are known by their ultra inconspicuous handles: Austin Marshall (percussion), Mason Watkins (slide guitar), and Bubba McCabe (bass).
Recently, Slim Chance and the Oddbeaters has been spotted in the delta of Mississippi, often springing to life when the combined energies of regional powerhouses Shady Deal and Gunboat are in the same town, at the same time, when Jupiter aligns with Uranus, and all is right in the world for a brief moment. At that precise instant, the mighty beast is awoken, setting off a chain reaction of pandemonium and chaos that haunts the dreams of those who happen to be at the right place at the wrong time.
