I'm still searching for home.

I used to process other people's tragedies for a living. Now I force myself every day to find other ways to remind myself how fortunate I am.

I feel everything too intensely. Sensory input and cognitive static beat me down every minute of every day, everything wrestling for my attention. I'm equal parts exhilarated and terrified.

Peace of mind is the only thing sacred anymore, and it's like a butterfly. The harder you cling to it, the more easily you destroy it.

Animals and children have more to teach you than you'd ever expect. So don't be cavalier. You and I as individuals and we as a species are smaller than we could ever fathom. "He who no longer lives in awe of life has ceased to live at all."
