When you think of the origins of Texas metal no other band surpassed the musical dynamics and on-stage prowess of Metal Blade recording artists, HELSTAR, who in their decade long career gave birth to such full-length classics as, Distant Thunder, Nosferatu and the ever legendary, Remnants of War. Texas fans and more so, the Houston faithful had much to celebrate, as Helstar rode the wave of Power-Metal onto countless national tours and right into the anodes of the metal history books. The new millennium is a different time and to many a different place which represents a world on the brink of suffering the consequences of a vengeful and hateful society. For many it is a life without respect for life,a life without sun,..a life of ETERNITY BLACK. Rising out of a near-death experience full of that exuberant darkness, ex-Helstar guitarists, Robert Trevino and Larry Barragan, have once again seen the METAL light. 2005 saw the connection of these two legendary axe-men, as they venture forth with musical endeavors that reflect raw aggression through heavy guitars that surpass the mundane of metalcore or thrash, but kick you in the face with ferocity of Texas groove and fury. With the venomously, charismatic voice of Ryan McKnight, drummer and ex-Helstar alum, Russell Deleon and bassist, Carlos Fuste, in tow the band, ETERNITY BLACK are poised to strike at the heart of the nation.Having delivered their self-titled debut along with numerous stellar performances in 2005, Eternity Black proved to Texas metal fans that their professionalism stems on both fronts. The bands 5-song EP, produced and engineered by Gregg Gill of the much heralded, Spyder Studios in Houston, was widely circulated in the Texas metal underground and has rightfully received rave reviews from as far away as Greece. It represents a mere reflection of the true metal integrity at the heart of this band. Furthermore, the fans delight has been ten fold with Eternity Black delivering a true stage show poised with backdrops, stellar lighting and the enigmatic delivery, which would give many of the younger, fine-tuned metal bands of today a harsh reality check in Metal101.With Eternity Black's regional following continuing to grow and with the bands constant pursuit of writing, 2006 will prove to be a pivotal year in the bands history. There is no more room for compromises, as Larry Barragan states, It is by far the heaviest thing I have ever been involved with. The songs are just in your face heavy metal. No flash, or fancy tricks, just metal.
