Baby C

About Me

Stepping on stage at 5 feet 3 inches, female rapper Baby C is larger on the mic than she is in person. As an artist, writer, dancer and performer, Baby C is experiencing all angles of hip-hop. She can be compared to no other artist; her unique voice captures each listener’s attention and her lyrical flow is undeniably innovative. With an ability to get people dancing to club tracks or vibing to slow jams, Baby C’s versatility has captured the attention of many fans. Her identifiable sound targets college students and thrives in the club scene. Instead of focusing on struggles and misfortune, she spits life as it is and lets her music portray her story.Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Baby C was influenced by various musical icons and started writing her own lyrics at the age of twelve. Her lyrics became a reflection of her life as her emotion was scribbled in ink. Breaking free of the stereotypical rap industry image, she let her music speak for itself. It was evident from her first performance at a high school talent show that Baby C belonged in the spotlight. In 2000, Baby C recorded her debut album in an underground studio and began to promote her own music. By organizing live performances and selling CDs, she created a name for herself and used profit from her sales to buy entry-level studio. Incorporating her love for dance, Baby C joined a break dancing crew and performed alongside other B-boys; the set included an integration of break, hip-hop and rap. Putting out her second CD caught the attention of hip-hop artists in Vancouver and she began to collaborate with various emcees. When she turned nineteen, Baby C’s music emerged into the club scene, and opened the doors for her to enhance her act as a live performer. Not only did she hit the stage at the hottest clubs in the city such as Cheers, The Waldorf, The Standard and Fever Night Club, but she also organized and promoted her own events at The Cellar, The Gallery, Industry Night Club, and Mahony & Sons. While on the microphone, Baby C’s stage presence shocks the audience: she has the ability to keep the crowd hype and all eyes on her.In 2008, Baby C completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia having balanced her education, her role on the varsity ice hockey team and her emerging rap career. She released her third album titled, “Can’t Touch Me” in the following September which featured artists and producers from around the world. She is currently attending graduate school while organizing events, perfecting her stage presence, and promoting her new CD. It is only a matter of time before the world recognizes her talent as an upcoming hip-hop artist.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
