* Nancy Van Vinyl Photography & artwork*

I am "Nancy Van Vinyl".....I had always aspired to be a photographer, I love everything about it.I was inspired by my parents who took many photographs back in the day!My mother was the photogenic one..my father took pics anywhere and everywhere. My mother has always been the one who carried a camera wherever she went & took pictures of every single moment of our lives, I hated that... but now Im glad that she did it because she has left us memories that we could look back on. My mom has documented every single moment of me & my sisters lives through photography ; putting it together in 2 inch photo albums, numbered from birth until the present time for each of us; for that Im grateful! Since I was a child I had always expressed my creativity.I was the child who threw tantrums at the store because my mother didnt want to buy me anymore crayons & paint because i already had hundreds of sets at home. At the age of six I got a hold of my oldest sisters markers & started my very first work in my own bedroom, I covered 3 of my powder pink colored walls with my artwork in dark blue marker. I made sure that every space within my reach was covered, even if it meant having to climb on furniture to reach undrawn places!& I even had my middle sister cynthia join in. As she played below; I continued my work above the dresser....3 hours later my mother came in and almost died because she had seen what we had done because she just had the room painted a week before, but through the shock she still had the time to pic up the camera & photograph me & my sister next to our artwork! I thank my middle sister Cynthia for being my partner in crime & for supporting me through everything I do. even when my ideas have been a little bit out there. But, hey thats whats it is all about..being the difference. I had always wanted a Rolie camera. I finally got one all the way from Chicago. Woohoo for ebay! I would get a tingly feeling when I would see vintage cameras including recently discovered vintage cameras that my father owned. ...I thank my first photo professor who was a little tough with me but told me the truth about my work and how I should get out there instead of keeping the work to myself.. whats funny is that i am not an art major and everyone always assumes I am. Its so crazy how I feel that I was born to do this kind of work. It comes so easy to me, and he hates the fact that I am not majoring in art!I have been Photographing for 3 years & have just taken a step in doing my first big project as a freelance photographer ....which brings me to "Nancy Van Vinyl Photography" .
