The day The Beatles are gay, I don't wanna be straight!

About Me

I'm a romantic, very social, can't get enough music, love to make people laugh, love to have a good time kinda guy. I'm a pretty good cook, though I don't often show it. I'm a man of simple tastes who enjoys the fine things in life just as much as everyday stuff. My dream is to someday become a history professor because hey, how many good teachers have you had that you'll ALWAYS remember? I fall in love probably a bit too easily, and I fall out of love with great difficulty. I like to think that's because I love with all my heart, because you should never do anything half way. I can carry on intelligent conversations just as easily as the dumbass things my pals and I talk about. I love music, everything from some nice Vivaldi in the morning to rocking out in the car to pumping techno in some basement somewhere. This little blurb is tough to write, mostly because I've changed quite a bit in the last year or so, so who knows what I'll be like in another one?“This is what you shall do: love the earth and sun, and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence towards the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown, or to any man or number of men; go freely with the powerful uneducated persons, and with the young, and mothers, of families: read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life: re-examine all you have been told at school or church, or in any books, and dismiss whatever insults your soul.”

You Know You're From Washington When...
You know the state flower (Mildew)You feel guilty when you don't recycle. You use the phrase "sun break" and know what it means. You know more than 10 ways to order coffee. You know more people who own boats than air conditioners. You feel overdressed wearing a suit to a nice restaurant. You've stood on a deserted corner in the rain waiting for the "Walk" Signal. You understand that if it has no snow or has not erupted, it is not a real mountain. You can taste the difference between Starbuck's, Seattle's Best, Veneto's, Peet's, and Tully's.You know the difference between Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye salmon. You consider swimming an indoor sport. You are well versed in the difference between Japanese, Chinese and Thai food.In winter, you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark -- while only working eight-hour days. You never go camping without waterproof matches and a poncho. You are not fazed by "Today's forecast: showers followed by rain," and "Tomorrow's forecast: rain followed by showers."You have no concept of humidity without precipitation. You can point to at least two volcanoes, even if you cannot see through the cloud cover. You notice "the mountain is out" when it is a pretty day and you can actually see it.You put on your shorts when the temperature gets above 50, but still wear your hiking boots and parka. You switch to your sandals when it gets about 60, but keep the socks on.You've actually used your mountain bike on a mountain. You think people who use umbrellas are either wimps or tourists. You knew immediately that the view out of Frasier's window was fake. You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Washington.

Just a thought

After watching it, twice in a row, I have to say the The Princess Bride is one of the best movies ever made.  I mean, really.  It has lots of humor, a dash of good romance, epic duels, Andre...

Waiting for the Sandman

I've been lying in bed for hours now, and I just can't fall asleep.  The bed is hotter than hell.  Usually I'm asleep by the time my body heat gets it this warmed up, but not tonight....

Into the box and onto the shelf

Well, it's the very beginning of the last day of 2006.  Interesting year, 2006.  I spent the winter and the spring in love, spent the summer in the mud, and spent the fall recovering ...

Hazy Shade of Winter

Home for the Holidays

Yet again, I find myself back at the beach.  This tour of duty is the longest one until summer, if I come home for summer.  As far as trips down here, last night wasn't so bad.  About 4...
