I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

.. .. .. ..

Thanks for your visit. I am a 28 year old college student. Before going to school I served four years active duty in the United States Marine Corps. It was in the Marines where I met my true brothers and did the stuff of legends. I say this because together we went on exciting adventures to far off lands as locked and loaded Marines. Much time was spent training but we accomplished many important mission objectives on two overseas deployments. Chief among these accomplishments was the helicopter invasion of Southern Afghanistan in November 2001.

We were first to fight in Operation Enduring Freedom and successfully captured objectives such as Camp Rhino and Khandahar. Before arriving in Afghanistan we secured airfields in Pakistan for the spearhead assault into Stan.
Overall I spent fourteen months overseas setting foot on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, East Timor and Australia.

I dedicate this page to the Marines of Charlie Company and all those that were with me as the 15th and 11th MEU SOC. (Marine Expeditionary Unit Special Operations Capable)

In memory of LCPL Douglas Cooper, USMC
I am my brother's keeper.

Weapons Platoon motto, 1998
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For I am the meanest motherfucker in the valley"

Semper Fidelis

I decided to move to the Chicago area to make use of the Illinois Veteran's Grant for College. Because of my four years of active duty service as an infantryman in Marines, I receive a grant to go to school. So I am just making the most of it.
I had quite the adventure in the Marines and I often do some writing about it. Through my service I traveled to many different places and blew many different things up with my rocket launcher. That's right. I was a rocket gunner for two years and then I eventually led rocket teams. Here is my weapon system below.

Life as Marine was tough but it was not without reward. I was able to travel to places I never thought I would be able to travel to.
I plan on moving from the suburbs to the city eventually so I can finish my degree at the University in downtown Chicago. My wife and I are looking forward to this move as life in the suburbs is getting dull.
In time I might include a link to my portfolio on this profile but there is a small technical problem; there is no portfolio yet. That is about to change soon.As far as what I like to do...Well, when I am not writing a paper or reading a textbook, I love playing texas hold em poker. I am always usually down for a beer er two. .. ..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I recently moved back to the Chicago Suburbs from Los Angeles. After high school, I served in the U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in California. I met my wife during my last years of service and we lived together in LA after my discharge. It came time for me to return to Chicago and I am hoping to get back in touch with some of my old friends. Perhaps some of you remember from Elgin High School when I lived in Bartlett. Or maybe we met when I was finishing up at St. Charles High School after I moved. Either way drop me line, cause its been a long time!
If you are a Marine, you will almost automatically get added to my profile. I try to stay in touch with you all. For military networking my units were:
First Battalion, First Marines
Charlie Company
Weapons Platoon
Assault Section
98-02

WESTPAC 11 MEU 1999
WESTPAC 15 MEU Operation Enduring Freedom
