About Me
My name is Yan. I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. I also spent a few years of my early childhood in a very cold place, Siberia. My family immigrated to the land of opportunity right before CCCP, or SSSR for those who don’t know the Russian alphabet, fell apart during the early nineties. Watching the tanks roll through Moscow and fire on the parliament building through American television, just a few months after we left the country, was like watching a bad dream. To this day I can’t believe it happened…. On a lighter note, I am just a BIG Kid. I like hanging out with my friends, going to the movies, playing video games, mountain biking, golfing, snowboarding (something new for this year), and living an active lifestyle in general. I spent about 16 years of my life in a pool as a competitive swimmer, which left little time for anything else but education. I love gadgets and toys, which has lead to my very expensive habit, I mean hobby, radio controlled model helicopters and airplanes. I believe in working for your money, but having fun while doing it. I have been given many opportunities to work on fun projects for Robby Gordon Motorsports, Kenwood USA, Oakley, and such teams as the Lakers, Grizzlies and Rockets. I guess being a computer nerd does have its advantages!MY FIRST SOLO FLIGHT!!!
