My Interests

I'm interested in talking to people who share my interests. That's music in many forms (playing the keyboard and guitar, composing, writing lyrics, singing), writing (fiction and non-fiction), painting (portraits and landscapes). I read loads, have practiced two forms of martial arts, have gone to the gym for ions, jog, am involved in animal protection work, and the last but not the least, like V8s on wheels.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Music means the world to me. I was born and raised to the tune of glam rock, and in my early teens, was smitten by rock’n’roll of the 50s and rockabilly. I contracted a case of Elvis fever, don’t know where since none of my friends dug him. Wonder why.;-) But it was my first and only serious case of fanhood with scrapbooks and all. Although I haven’t really listened to Elvis for ages now, I used to listen and sing to his songs so much back then that even today I can make Elvis sing in my head at will. I’m almost like a walking Elvis jukebox UC. My musical taste includes AC/DC, Within Temptation, Tool, Hanoi Rocks, The Cult, Billy Idol, Van Halen w. David Lee Roth, Mötley Crüe, Siouxsie Sue and the Banshees, Kamelot, Drowning Pool, Alice Cooper, Sevendust, Nickelbag (don't mean Nickelback), Metallica, Megadeth, The 69 Eyes, Reduced To Ash, Paradise Lost, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Guns and Roses, Type O Negative, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Ugly Kid Joe, Helloween, Jack Of All Trades, Stam1na, Ozzy, Annie Lennox, Hurriganes, Pantera, Mortiis, The Stones, ZZ Top, Mercenary, Depeche Mode, Shakespeare's Sisters...to name just a few...:-)

Movies:

American Graffiti, Thelma and Louise, Bruce Lee movies and various martial arts movies, The Crow, Blues Brothers

Television:

I put some videos me likey here in this box, hope you enjoy intense and passionate performances like I do. I keep these nice clips from YouTube together here bc there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of synergy between YouTube and MySpace with some code left visible here about width and height blah blah...can't you programming nerds do any better than that...;-) I tried various tricks like inserting stuff in front of the bs code but I got some weird things like a button. For all I know, maybe it was THE button to press that would shoot the entire myspace to cyberspace heheh so I decided to not risk it.;-)
I'm keeping Eldritch here still for a while, he is an impressive figure and doesn't seem to give a hoot about what anybody thinks...my kinda guy!:-) Ofra Haz died tragically not a long time ago. She sang wonderfully and with that exotic style. I wonder why a new Ofra Haz hasn't emerged already... .. width="425" height="350" .... width="425" height="350" ..Passive by A Perfect Circle

I love love love this following video by Nighwish!Sleeping Sun - Nightwish

Books:

You really shouldn’t get me started on books, or you’ll be sorry…as sorry as a few of my non-book-loving friends who’ve ever made the mistake of going into a bookstore with me. You see, it’s way easier to walk into a bookstore than to walk out of one…or to get me to walk out of one…;-) A good book can make a whole lof of difference in a person’s life. It can entertain and provide comfort and guidance in times when you need words of wisdom. Behind a book there’s a person talking to you and sometimes a book can be like a friend you hate to leave behind once you hit that final page and know that you’ve reached the end of your journey together. But at least what was in the book can stay with you until all eternity. It's impossible to list even a fraction of all the good books in the world...here are some: Tony Buzan: The Power of Creative Intelligence, Anything by C.G. Jung, Anything by Julia Cameron, Anything by Groucho Marx, Mötley Crüe: The dirt, Jeffrey Archer: Kain and Abel, Martial arts books

Singing again at long last

I'm in singing camp far away now but wondering if my vocal chords will be up to it as I'm still feeling some of the effects of the flu I had last week which kept me from singing for a week and a half....

Great lyrics

I've often marvelled at the cleverness of the lyrics of Hold Back by the Rolling Stones. The text forms a coherent whole and contains a good message too. Nice piece and one they can sur...

WWJD?

Lately, there's been some references to 'WWJD?' in the media. Apparently, it is short for What Would Jesus Do, an idea some people like to ponder upon when deciding what to do about something or ...
