Black December's tunes are hard-hitting and contagious with their powerful, rhythmic grooves and catchy guitar riffs. Influenced by such bands as Sevendust, Thornley, Hed PE, and the Deftones the boys in Black December describe their music as, "the new wave of hard rock music." Black December has come to make a statement about their dedication to their music. Black December, although their name may leave a bitter taste in the mouth, has entered the music industry to make a positive statement about these dark times we live intheres still hope! One agreement weve kept since the beginning is that the SONG always wins and our egos are always left at the door, comments Mike about the songwriting process. The worst thing you can do is let your ego stop you from making a great song. We want to make sure that the best ideas for the song come out on top.In early 2003, Black Decembers two founding members Jesse and Mike began writing material.Jesse (drums) comments on the bands beginnings, After sifting through various rock bands, I realized that I needed musicians that were serious about their music so I put up an ad in the local music shop. When Mike responded to the ad, I was relieved to see his dedication to music. We immediately planned out our goals for the band and its been nothing but hard work since then.With a strong catalog of songs ready to be performed live, Mike and Jesse sought out a necessary player. Chris Murphy was then picked up and added to the line-up. We tried out so many musicians, but every time it was the same storygreat talent, but no dedication. Chris just had all the right attributes.Having a complete roster and a full load of strong songs, Black December began playing live shows all over the North state.
