About Me

CONNECTED MAGAZINE REVIEW OF GIG FEB '09 Revolution for Dogs. Due to release their album in the summer this year, trounced out their brand of jangly indie-pop with aplomb. Sounding at times like The Coral and at other times aspiring to the sound of BRMC, songs like ‘Home’ and ‘Save Me’ seemed to go down a treat with the crowd. -Niamh Doolan

Titled 'Dirty Hands'. Multi-talented graphic designer Maxi is currently getting his hands dirty mulling over the artwork. Working with Liam Mulvaney as producer, the album is currently being mixed in the U.S. and U.K and will be mastered by Aidan Foley at Masterlabs.
The track ' HOME ' has been playlisted on Phantom 105.2fm since Jan '09.
The band played the Jack Daniels sponsered JD Set 2009 at Crawdaddy in Dublin in Feb.
Featured profile choice in The Rockers Dozen in the February edition of HOTPRESS MAGAZINE.
Invited to Guest DJ at NO DISKO club night in The Academy in April.Live instore gig and Single launch in May@ Tower Records , Wicklow St. Dublin.
Phantom First Friday gig at Andrews Lane Theatre in May.
Played MCD/FMC ' Once a Month Club' at the Academy, with Giveamanakick
Radio interview and acoustic live track on The Front Row with Sinead Ni Mhorda of Phantom 105.2FM April '09
2008 was a busy year , making their debut television appearance on RTE’s WE TV .
2008 gigs included MCD support slot for Top Ten American band FLOBOTS at Whelans and a storming set at The Village.
In between recording sessions for the album they also found time for some live “sessions” on PHANTOM 105.2fm and Near FM.
The band has two singers and two songwriters , no not Lennon/McCartney , Grace/McGrath , although they do share the trait of whoever writes the song , generally sings the song. The music evolves in a competitive environment. There are rumours of bloodshed in both the rehearsal room and the studio during arrangement. McGrath , also the bass player posesses an evil eye , while Grace likes to wear shades .All proceedings are overlooked by Whitey , the silent dog who the band rescued from a skip.
The recording sessions for the album, have been creative with every avenue explored in trying to bring out the best overall sound. The guys love investigating new sonics, vintage guitars and experimental soundscapes. Harmonium, Baritone & Slide Guitars, Xylophone, MicroKorg, “Muppet Show” Backing vocals ,Drum loops, Dog Whistles, Shakers ,Vocal Processors , Books on Philosophy (as a percussion instrument!).... you name it they’ll try it! Chief instigator and referee in all this studio chaos is producer Liam Mulvaney who operates on a drip of strong coffee, mind-games and cigarettes and does his best to avoid band politics. I feel a storm a brewing.
HOT PRESS REVIEW OF 'MISSION TO THE SUN' 12/09/08
'Offering bleak, powerful and punchy rock peppered with some quasi-prog sound effects, Revolution For Dogs immediately stand out from the crowd and are in some respects reminiscent of Therapy? The more upbeat and swaggering b-side 'Vampyre Of The Soul' offers a slightly different take on their distinctive sound, but both tracks leave a very pleasant aftertaste. Keep an eye on this lot.
HOTPRESS REVIEW OF 'SAVE ME / HOME'
On their new single 'Save Me' Revolution For Dogs use the same font as you'll find on a packet of Rizla rolling papers. The Dublin quartet's latest offering may not be completely smokin', but the jaunty, cheeky-chappy indie pop (akin to The Coral in places), as well as the steady swagger of B-side 'Home', is packed with enough character to spark interest in the debut album.-LaurenMurphy_________________________________________ _______________________

Sounds Like: John Lennon met Jimi Hendrix in Janis Joplin's house. AC/DC played acoustic on the electric fence and Karen Carpenter was having a Bob Dylan sandwich. Cat Stevens went off on his own while The Rolling Stones revived Keith Richards. The Violent Femmes smoked some joints when The Police appeared, then disappeared, then re-appeared.The White Stripes rang the doorbell and Belle and Sebastian rang the phone to say Blondie was hanging on the washingline.A little dog spoke to me , he said you are Revolution For Dogs for I am a Who and we Who's are grateful and thankful to you.Ticks and fleas may jump on me but music is my main disease.Phil Spector shot Bryan Mc Fat 'un in the face. The Jam burned their own flag. The Who knocked up , some chick went down. The Pixies were very quiet, then loud, then quiet again. Peter Green grew his nails and joined The Cult. The Hollies danced under the mistletoe. Led Zepplin gave everyone a green helium balloon, it was a great party. BOOKINGS/TV/RADIO please email: [email protected]
