I sort of liken myself to Lloyd Dobbler.... So if you know and appreciate who that is then we're probably starting off on the same page. I'm a former Marine, volunteer firefighter/EMT and I play the bagpipes in a firefighter band. I currently work as a safety coordinator for a major utility company. I enjoy what I'm doing right now, but I miss my REAL job.
I worked for the County Prosecutor's Office as a criminal investigator in the arson, explosives and environmental crimes unit. My job was stolen from me by a disgusting individual by the name of Nancy Foz, along with a few individuals I'll refer to as "her toolbox". Law enforcement is supposed to be a profession of honor and integrity, but unfortunately some people think that badge is a license to steal.
One of my favorite things to do is experiment in the kitchen. I LOVE cooking, especially for friends and making a complete disaster area in the kitchen. (Warning... I don't like to clean the disaster area if I can get away with it.) I have a few favorites that I have made. I've even taken some recipes and put my own spin on them with varying results. (I haven't poisoned anyone yet) I enjoy making something that people can enjoy. Anyone can go buy something that tastes good, but to make something yourself says you care about making people happy.
One of my favorite artists is Ansel Adams. I really enjoy the outdoors and I could be happy visiting national parks more than a beach resort. I lived on a beach (a real beach) and I’ve lived in the desert so I’d say I’ve had my fill of sun and sand. There are some amazing natural wonders you’ll never get to see laying out by some resort pool with an umbrella drink. I like adventure vacations. I'm completely fascinated by earth sciences. I'm also a Sci Fi buff, although NOT the original Star Trek. I'm more of a Star Gate fan and you probably won't catch me at one of those conventions in a costume. I'm a writer and I also enjoy photography, especially black and white. There's something very classy and understated about a B&W picture. I've been published several times and received awards for my work.
