Orange Island

About Me

"Sure, a lot of bands can make good party albums, but can any make a good hangover record? Orange Island sure tries. Lead singer Gormo leads you through getting shot down by models, bad breakups and pining for the unknown. “The Disappearing Act ...” is a high point of the disc, rocking out Foo Fighters/Jimmy Eat World-style to a song about vanity and finding that perfect someone. It’s followed by a Jimi Hendrix Experience, full-out rock jam on “The Last Yellow Days of Anna Lauzonis,” telling the cautionary tale of drug and alcohol abuse. The finale “On the Greyhound ...” brings us to that morning after, as the band contemplates last night, when they all got so drunk, they broke up. Bummer." - Phil Mcnamara
