My name is Erica Avery. I joined the Navy in 2005, thinking I'd be on a ship somewhere, but instead I'm in a squadron that only deploys to the desert. Imagine that? I am enjoying every aspect of my life right now. I'm finally 21 and I've been enjoying every minute of it. I have an amazing family who loves and supports me in everything that I do. I love them with all my heart! It sucks that I can't spend as much time with them as I would like to. I have great friends, who are always there for me, especially when i need a shoulder to cry on. Over the past few years, I have really learned the friends that are going to always be there for me. I met an amazing guy, who treats me very well. He's great, and I learn things from him everyday. I know it sounds corny, but he makes me want to be a better person. I love sports, but my favorite is volleyball. I love shopping, going to the movies. I love going to Sea World and the Wild Animal Park. I miss Southern California beaches. I never thought I would be where I am today, but the obstacles that I have had to overcome in the last 3 years have changed me for the better.
