Keep It Fake 16-song CD available now

Sounds Like: J Marinelli is a true talent... a refreshing change of pace from the over-produced, processed, homogenized crap shoved down our throats on a daily basis.
-- Punk Planet

...fortunately this man Marinelli is the living, burning match-mixed-with-milkshake (or Milkshakes as in not Thee Headcoats) that loser, conformity-obsessed, tattoo-n-holes-having desperate “kids” really need injected into their lives if they ever truly want to have a life that might, someday, be considered actually punk and not just another hot, umm, topic.
--Buddyhead

Delivering 16 gloriously raw’n’ragged songs worth of rattling rickety racket in an astonishingly short’n’snappy 26 minutes, this always energetic and often uproarious blast of sheer scrappy punk-rock noise eschews both polish and pretense in favor just getting right down to gleefully bent, batty and berserk brass tacks in a most enjoyably rough’n’ready manner.
-- Jersey Beat

If you are of a mind that music is just some tool used to keep out human voices on the subway, or to use for ringtones (and you must not be, since you are reading this amazing zine), or if you have forgotten that rock was meant to be offensive and celebrate freedom, this is a good primer on what glory rock can be when the artist just plugs in, turns it up to 10, and raves on.

-- Foxy Digitalis

...You can hear the influences of punk, rockabilly, and pub rock splash across the songs on the disc. This means that there’s plenty of loud guitar playing some amazing hooks that will have you bouncing around the room in no time. Marinelli’s boozy singing also adds to the fun of “Keep it Fake.” He sounds like a cross between Hot Rod Todd from Le Shok and the Pogues’ Shane MacGowan with all of the slurred singing and distorted vocals you would expect from that pairing.
-- Foxy Digitalis

...Young Pioneers, Beat Happening and The Fall getting together inside of Hasil Adkins. This guy represents West Virginia punk rock better than any band could.
-- The Twenty Fourth

... like a barrage of rising-and-diving guitar lines that sound akin to some of the greats of traditional punk rock, yet retain a semblance of soft-spoken honesty and originality throughout the entire record.
-- The Daily Athenaeum

...what he does seem to be doing is standing in the wreckage of a trapset, stamping on the bass drum, wrangling jagged lines out of his guitar and making like Billy Bragg channelling Mark E Smith through a mic that’s seen better days.
-- Robots & Electric Brains

One-man band J Marinelli is a huge jerk and quite possibly a Satanist. We like him anyway.
-- Couches On Fire
