Welcome to my music history page. One of my notable musical accomplishments is playing lead guitar for Gary Wilson and The Blind Dates . I've been a member the Blind Dates ever since we started playing Gary's music back in high school.
I met Gary Wilson through our friend Frank. Our early bands were named "Zues (Gary) and The Prunes", and "Dr. Zork and The Warts". Later we became known as "Gary Wilson and The Blind Dates".
We played at various events around town and often small riots broke out. During that time we did mostly avant-garde music. Sometimes people would unplug our amps and tell us to stop playing.
During 1976-1977 Gary recorded his classic album "You Think You Really Know Me". In 1979, we found our way to New York City and played at CBGBs for a few nights.
Not much happened afterwards except that Gary and most of The Blind Dates moved away to San Diego, California.
Fast forward 25 years...
One day in 2002, I was sitting in my living room and the phone rang. It was Motel Records calling to look for Gary Wilson. They had hired a private investigator and still could not locate Gary. I put them in contact with Gary and things started happening.
The next thing I knew, I was mentioned in the NY Times as the person who knew how to contact Gary Wilson for Motel Records. Soon after we played a sold out show at Joe's Pub. During this time Gorgeous Entertainment made a movie about Gary Wilson and The Blind Dates called "You Think You Really Know Me: The Gary Wilson Story". The movie is not yet available for purchase, but has won awards at various film festivals.
Since then we have played more shows. It's always a pleasure performing with Gary Wilson and The Blind Dates, and I'm always looking forward to our next flour filled adventure.
