About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
yeah, well, what's to say, you know? anything i type here will probably be boring to most people unless you really know me, in which case you don't need to read about it here. suffice it to say that i try my darndest every day to make a difference in this world. there is too much hatred, too much war, too much loneliness, too much apathy for me to do otherwise. i am grounded as a follower of jesus christ in the roman catholic tradition. i am proud of that. i tried to live without it for a short while but found that i could not. being a catholic is central to who i am. i write music for my church community. sometimes people sing it at mass, which is the biggest thrill. actually, i am humbled that people would even want to sing my songs. i'm a youth minister, trying to help young people find their own path.
i am webmaster for spiritandsong.com, my publisher and record label. i'm a writer and i think that's what i love to do the most. the english language is a beautiful medium of expression and there is no empty canvas that holds more promise for me than the blank page. i write magazine columns, blogs, and am working on a couple of books. i'm a skateboarder. i'm going deaf. yeah, a deaf musician. i don't think i have too many friends, but i can be the most loyal friend anyone could ever hope to have. basically, i think there are two kinds of people in the world: those who look out for themselves, and those who look out for others. i'm the latter. like i said, i'm just trying to make a difference in this world.

I finally figured out how to set up my own Artist MySpace. Basically, it's a songwriter's showcase featuring four of my songs in periodic rotation.
Check it out at: kencanedomusic. Become my friend on that site, too, and get two Kens for the price of one!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

the thing about this question is: what the heck would i ever say to famous people that i'd like to meet? i'd only stammer awkwardly, comment on the weather, and be a general nervous wreck. better to just read about them, listen to their music, enjoy them from a distance. famous people are either already dead or, if living, way too busy to have any time for a schmuck like me.
