Originally, I was raised in No Cal. I moved around a bit - hated it but saw the benefits later which is why I have landed here. I've always had to adapt to new surroundings and situations so I overcame my fear of the unknown very early in life. Lived in Vegas for 6 years which is where my journey to this very moment has spawned from. As soon as I set foot in the dusty oasis of Lost Wages, I started my relentless search for a voice coach. Now the beauty of waiting tables is that very often, one doesn't have to look too far for whatever or whomever... they just sort of show up at one of your tables. And if your an engaging sort of inquisitive person like myself, the answer to your current life question is answered lickity split. I found my voice coach and studied with him for almost 4 years (David London). I had the good fortune to open the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay and that's where it all really got started for me. During my 5 years at HOB(in Vegas) I would on a weekly sometimes daily basis sing to my tables acapel'a which was and always is still good for tips. My first "performance" really sucked but I did it again and again until I wasn't afraid or nervous. Honestly, I don't know if that ever goes away completely. Living in Vegas was the best thing I could have done and would do all over again in a heartbeat! But I wasn't finding what I needed musically there so I moved to So Cal, I have been blessed to make the acquaintance of my producer Jason Brawner. He is teaching me the fine art of songwriting and music/production. I am still a work in progress and always will be. I have been seriously writing for almost 2 years and I LOVE it!!! It truly is a "get to" and I would travel as far as I need to make it happen. The first song I have featured on this account is a song I wrote for a friend Neil Payne, a film student at Chapman. He really wanted to have a Def Tones single in his movie, so Jason and I listened to the White Pony album and wrote a song influenced by their dark sound with Neil's movie theme in mind. We have re-vamped the tune 3 or 4 times to get it right. I am proud of the work we have done on this song. So this is what it's all about stretching and reaching for places not yet seen and being open to change so that I can reach those places. This has been the hardest and most rewarding choice I have made for myself and only hope that I will be a TESTAMENT and model for others who have reservations about pursuing a dream that may be by the standards of their peers "not realistic or a bit far fetched". I wasn't born into a talented musically driven family who pushed me into this..... I do know it's my intense desire to succeed and make a mark that can be seen from the middle of the Universe. The obstacles and challenges I have faced before this moment is why I am so driven and determined to give it all I have so that when my contract is up in this world I can say I have no regrets. "COGITO ERGO SUM" in latin means "I think therefore I am"
