Innovative ground-breaking indie Uk Record Label

About Me

These tracks are changed every 2 weeks (You just missed The Sixties Themes Including Star Trek, Rawhide, Self Preservation society etc)
FLR was set up in 1993 and was the ultimate Indie label doing what a great Indie labels should do. Start new music trends, discover and promote new music genres and artists. Put out innovative production and have legendary promotions.
They started the Cult themes trend in the 90's, which was to do new innovative versions of Cult T.V and Film Themes like Mission Impossible, Batman, Man from Uncle, Stingray and The Bond themes. These new versions had great innovative productions and arrangements by cult record producer Russell C. Writer (often referred to as the new Joe Meek). But it also gave a great platform to promote new talent by marrying up new artists with a cult theme. It helped break many artists who then got their original material heard. You can hear a few examples of the cult themes here.
This weeks albums getting the exposure are Cult Themes From The 80's. Cat People by Phosphoric, When Doves Cry by Celebrate the Sun and Absolute Begonners by Once more into the Bleach.
Plus 2 tracks From 'Cult Themes from the 70's Vol.2 in the form of THe Adventurer By Box Office Poison (A very rare John Barry Track) plus A Clockwork Orange by Digital Lemon
The Other track is Starsky and Hutch by hit Mod band The Lambrettas from 'Cult Themes from the 70's Vol.1'
We are doing a special deal of only £2.88 for CD of albums. (the sixties Vol.3 is also on vinyl) Go here for more details of track listings of all albums and how to get it or drop us a line at this page for more details

Now a few more details about the record label The Labels top selling act was Cult Mod/Britpop Artist Eleanor Rigby who was like a cross between The Kinks, Blondie and The Jam. You can find out more about her by clicking on her photo in friends.
Box Office Poison were the Pioneers of the label doing a new style of music called 'Pop Noir'. This had a Jazz Punk attititude a classical ambience, hypnotic grooves and a filmic feel. The have recently changed their name to Psykick Holiday. Click on their photo to learn more or click on Box Office Poison Logo to learn about the early innovative material.
Ministry of Ska were the Fun Band on the Label but also pioneered a new style of music called 'Ska Surf'.
More in depth info can be found at the official Future Legend website about all releases and artists or by click on their photos here. FLR are more of a production company nowdays licensing new releases they may be involved with to other labels, so not signing any new artists. One example being the Alternative Bond Themes Compilation 'The Themes Bond...James Bond'. Out now . A preview of 4 tracks can be heard on the FLR promotions page.
