Biography Here I Am
We had to wait one year for the new song from Special D. The last song You was released in November 2004. A long time, within which the sympathetic guy from Hamburg wasnt lazy, moreover completed a European and Asian tour, won two TMF-Awards in Holland and was also booked out for music productions. So for the production of the new single and the second Album Dennis wanted to take his time to perfect the end product! That was also the reason of his three month time-out, which Dennis took at the beginning of 2005.
In that time he produced no dance beats but a whole new German hip hop album for his studio singer Nathalie Tineo. His production talent has no boundaries. He wants to produce music in several styles, thats why he switched his digital Pult to an older Analog unit he bought which once belonged to Stevie Wonder, which found its way 3 years ago to Germany.
In the 2 years since his smash hit Come with me (..6 in UK, ..10 in Holland, 13 in Germany) Special D has managed to become one of the most sought after producers and most booked DJs worldwide. He has also made his way into the hall of fame of the international dance music producers and DJs and has his own special style of spinning music. He plays worldwide and is booked out for 6 months in advance, also remixes or co-productions need very early confirmation!
This amazing success however, has not affected his carefree attitude. Dennis Horstmann still lives in the Hamburg district of Rahlstedt, goes shopping, plays sport, goes to the cinema with friends and stops in at the take-away around the corner, which is a far cry from the Hamburg Jet Set! He also gives lots of autographs after each appearance and quite often wont stop until he has signed for every fan. Its all these small things that make the trained sound engineer so likeable and accessible which is also the feeling Dennis delivers with his new track Here I Am. The song gets the crowds going with his positive vibe and fills the floors in the hottest clubs all around the world.
One week after release in Holland the track became the most played record on Dutch radio. In England all the big radio stations are trying to obtain the track directly from the German record company (Kontor Records) because the hype surrounding Special D was massive after his huge smash hit Come with me and Top of the Pops booking Dennis 2 times for the show making their first outdoor recording ever!
So the dance floors all over the world are prepared for the 5th single of Special D.
