--- The L Word explores the personal lives, careers and relationships of a group of young women, both gay and straight, who reside in the trendy area of West Hollywood in Los Angeles. The characters struggle with their relationships, self identities, careers, motherhood and even death, but maintain strong bonds that help them cope with their ever-changing lives.The successful series, created by Ilene Chaiken (Barb Wire, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), first premiered in 2004 and is now in its fifth season. Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, the main cast of six characters includes: Bette, Kit, Jenny, Alice, Tina and Shane. Throughout the series, new personalities added to the existing cast further develop the intricate, and sometimes controversial, relationship connections that keep the show pushing its own boundaries.
