About Me

Hailed as the "Father of Rock & Roll," Chuck Berry’s signature guitar work, poetic songwriting, and inspired showmanship have influenced every Rock & Roll musician to follow him. Beginning with "Maybellene" in 1955, he recorded a series of hits that defined the standards of the genre. He was the first person inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His song "Johnny B. Goode" is on the 12-inch gold plated copper disk containing recorded sounds and images representing human cultures and life on Earth. It is affixed to each Voyager as a message in a bottle cast into the cosmic sea. Sent in 1977, its intention is to reach out to the universe with a recording spanning the ages of music. Chuck Berry is WORTHY.

Chuck Berry and John Lennon "Johnny B. Goode"!!
Keith Richards just can't get it right on the rehearsal of "Oh Carol". Chuck had Robert Cray and Keith Richards join his band for his 60th Birthday Celebration in St. Louis in 1986. This is from the footage of "Hail, Hail Rock N Roll" at Chuck's house while they were getting the set together. Keith just cant get it right at first and is totally gettin' schooled in the feel of Chuck's tune. The exactness of the song is what Chuck was after, Keith was grazing the riff, not peggin' it! This is a student suffering the teacher at its finest.
