Born in the hot month of July, on the 24th day in 1984 Clifton Oubre Jr., was a baby to eventually grow into a great producer in his later years. As a child, he loved to tap on things to sound out songs that he heard. Using his hands, fingers, and mouth for humming out basslines and instrumentals, Clifton learned to duplicate many songs and remember them.
As Clifton grew, at around the age of 12 and 13, he was asked by his parents to maybe join the band with no avail. He continued to tap out songs. Now, at this age, this ability became better and he began replicating songs played by the St. James High Marching Band at the time. Any song that was played was hummed and tapped out with precision at his house. Also during this time, his cousins were rapping over instrumentals trying to get their voices heard. Clifton was also around listening and trying to learn, but rapping wasn’t really what he was good at. But, he began to learn more about music and what people liked. Also, his cousins had a keyboard that he would sometimes play on. Clifton would play on the keyboard at times, but his cousins would at times try to come up with songs on it.
Later, during the days of high school at St. James High, he began to play many different sports. But, with a small size and a few problems with his ankles, he left football alone and continued with a few other sports. During the end of his sophomore year, his best friend and cousin Jonathan, asked Clifton everyday to join the band, but Clifton refused to do it. Finally, on a Thursday doing lunch, Jonathan asked again and Clifton finally said that he was going to join the band. He asked Clifton to join because they both would always come up with beats by tapping on tables. Clifton then went to practice for band after school and instantly was put from small bass drum to large bass drum because of his knowledge of all the songs. This began his start into music. Playing these songs in the band helped him learn more about music, how songs tend to be composed, drums and basslines. He later learned other percussion instruments over time. As he continued to play, Clifton needed more songs to play because what he was doing in band just wasn’t enough. He was then later introduced to a music production program in 2001 by another cousin, Mauriceio, . This became his introduction into making music.
As the years passed, and Clifton grew stronger and better with production, he graduated from high school and later got a part time job at Wal-Mart to help out with his things for school. During this time, he got the name STUDABAKER. This name came around because Clifton was having trouble trying to lift a heavy bag of potting soil onto a stack base that was stacked very high. At this point his cousin that works with him thought for a second and then said “Studabaker!†The name comes from an old classic car that sits very low to the ground. Since Clifton is a fairly short man and also because he had that problem with the soil because he’s short, the name began to stick. From that day on, he was then at times called Studabaker. He then decided to use the name in music, but he prefers to say that the name Studabaker is used to say that he has classic instrumentals that will never die.
Now, Studabaker is becoming an even better producer and is ready to take on the whole world. There’s no stopping now. STUDABAKER PRODUCTIONS.LOVEMYFLASH CODE
