Wood (aka Livestock)

About Me

The concept of Wood began on a car trip home from Sleep's first show, 7/12/91. Being both life and death, useful as both toy and weapon, giver of warmth, survivor of frost, everywhere and yet unseen, Wood came to stand for all existence. Wood's first rehearsal was November 17, 1991 in San Jose. Wood's first show was at 924 Gilman St, Berkeley, June 12, 1992. "Citizen", the first demo, was recorded in 1993. Only 25 exist. In late 1994, after spending every cent recording an album that would never see light of day, it was discovered that at least two other bands called Wood were concurrently in existence. The name was officially changed to Livestock in April of 1995, and a few songs from the '94 recordings were released as Livestock's first demo. Only 50 exist. The band would record another demo later that year at Trainwreck studios, releasing 100 copies with three different covers. Rehearsals became sparse between 1996 and 2001, when it was decided to end the trio and move on to something new...
