BIOGRAPHY
As Jen Majura was born and she knew that music is what she's meant to do
Her dad, bassplayer of the NDW-band KIZ was already on TV in 1982/83 and mentioned in famous regional magazines, so she never really had to think seriously about which way to choose for her life later on.
At the age of 4 Jen Majura took lessons in keyboard, having 100% support of her parents. So she learned how to play different kinds of instruments when she was 6 years old, but already few years later Jen Majura tended more towards rockstyles, as KISS seemed kinda hard to be played on a flute
So back in 1992 she started to teach herself how to play the first chords on an electric guitar so whatever it takes to do God Gave RnR to you (KISS)! She listened to music of Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, etc. later broaden up her mind as she started to study the music of Toto, Stevie Wonder, Genisis, extreme genius guitarists like Joe Satriani or Steve Vai. In the meantime theres a huge spectrum of bands and musicians Jen Majura likes to listen to such as Rammstein to Sisters Of Mercy, John Scofield to Pat Metheny, Larry Graham to Keziah Jones, Victor Smolski to Steve Lukather, Bach to Beethoven, Miles Davis to Ella Fitzgerald, Pink to Aretha Franklin. Music is a fantastic language and always great when it touches your heart and soul!
Jen Majura learned to play a little something on many instruments during the years like for example viola, bass, classical guitar, piano
She wrote my first own song called I love my guitar at the age of 10, followed by plenty of other songs, and she didnt had to wait long until the first public gig came up. Years later playing a christmas show for 120 people and finally singing on TV on RTL2s show Fame Academy in 2003 for an audience of 5 million people.
At the age of 14 Jen Majura experienced her first studio work together with a team of producers (Skielo Prod.) and recorded her own songs. Yearly she worked as an artist for the amplifier concern Conquest (Belgium) on the Franfurter Musikmesse, where she met TM Stevens, who gave her the nick name BabyChan years ago.
On and on she kept playing with own bands such as Session X or Small tube rainbow bubbles.
On the classical edge Jen Majura made music in smaller exhibition halls for painters and other regional artists as well, got her final examination for classical guitar degree A.
After quitting school she started to work as a teacher in the guitarschool. More or less because in sheer desperation she found out an opportunity to aply for RTL2s Fame Academy TV show and after an incredible amount of auditions and castings august/september 2003 she was lucky enough to sing Lee Ann Rimes' Cant fight the moonlight live on TV (7.9.03) for 5 million people.
So that was how she came to her first artist contract with the record company BMG.
In spring 2004 Jen Majura went to Amsterdam/Holland for another re-production of the 1994-written song Strange kind of weather, with the producer Sylvan Chidi.Short time later Gemini & Cologne Film Prod. contacted her and asked to act a trailler production for a TV serie called The Band.In fall 2004 Jen Majura met a guy called Keno, who worked with the sugar babes, Dante Thomas, Sarah Connor and Yvonne Catterfeld. We've been in the studio for several weeks. Her regional coverband called Raks (www.grupperaks.de) is on and she's now doing the front"gurl" job for this international groove band, which soon should be improved to a very well known showband in Europe.
She's also now diggin into a new girlgroup project.
