Music:

I play guitar and piano, and i like a very wide variety of genres. Music that can't be played on either, is not music. Rap for example is (typically crappy) poetry with a looped beat. No musical talent necessary. Hip hop, is just samples of rock or pop music riffs overlayed with different lyrics.

Movies:

Kung Fu and Independent film failures. My recent new-found favorite is: "The Razor's Edge" (1984) starring Bill Murray (his first non-comedic role).

Television:

My TV is for movies. Once in a while i'll watch something on the history channel, but thats about it. If i want reality, drama, or comedy... i just make a few phone calls, or step outside for a little while.

Books:

The Sportsman's Encyclopedia, Francis H. Buzzacott, 1913 Lots of good survival tips, and back in 1913, there was no such thing as 'travel light' or 'leave no trace'... this guy shows you how to survive in the wilderness and leave a path of destruction at the same time.
