About Me

Hello everybody, my name is Yuko and I am from Chiba. I am starting the first Cutting Edge Japanese Fan Club (Official) and hope all of you will join me. I first became a fan of Cutting Edge when I heard the songs Love Police and Without You on the radio. These songs were from their debut album Humongously Yours. Since then, they have released two new albums, The Big 14 N More and Censored by the U.S. Government, and the music is better than ever. Many of the songs have various remixes by some of the top remixers in the U.S.So I hope you will join the growing fan list of the Cutting Edge Japanese Fan Club, drop a comment about the music and your favorite song. After joing the fan club, check out the Cutting Edge space and the Leli space (she is from Angeles in the Philippines and writes all the songs for Cutting Edge). To the left are some reviews of the music of Cutting Edge and awards they have received. I hope with enough of you joining me, we might be able to get the band to come to Japan.

Love It! "LOVE POLICE" is a smash...we love this song!" --KSXY DJ LOU-E Santa Rosa, CACutting Edge plays Love Police Ive spun the best and Ive seen the best in concert, but Cutting Edge is the total bomb. This band is going to explode. They blew the roof off at the concert with Its Time, Abuse of Power, Judas of DC and of course, Love Police. I have never seen or heard anything like it. Since I was spinning Cutting Edge, they invited me back stage at the concert. I could not believe it when the 2 bands following Cutting Edge refused to take the stage. The following night, Cutting Edge was headlining the concert. HEY DJs, if youre spinning Cutting Edge, let them know, they take good care of us at their shows. I had 2 backstage passes and dinner. There mustve been 20 DJs backstage. Great Band -DJ Booker, Los Angeles, CA.Good Party Vibe!!! - Great track!!!!! I Like the intro and the trumpet stabs give the tune a very 'live sound'. This track has a good groove and a good party vibe!!! The piano and synths work well together and the bassline is sick! :) The vocal sounds well done and all the fx and arrangement tricks sound great! One of the best tracks I have heard on the net so far!!! - Antiscience from United KingdomLove Police and Cutting Edge jams in Concert! Cutting Edge played LA last night and I have never enjoyed a concert such as this. The band jammed out Love Police for almost 20 minutes and the crowd rocked. I have been promoting concerts for over 20 years and never, ever, had I seen a band take a hold of an audience like Cutting Edge. I will state this now, there is no indie band in the world that can get on the same stage as Cutting Edge. I repeat, there is no indie band in the world capable of being on the same stage with Cutting Edge. It is a shame that they hardly ever tour and only do limited concerts dates when they do. - GuitarWorld, StevenStage Production Okay, the remixes where okay, but the original rock version jammed its heart out with all the special effects thrown in. The opeing sequence with the door creaking open, with the cops vocal sound to sirens in the bridge, you can just feel someone trying to get away from the Love Police.... the duel lead vocals make this a killer track and the chanting background is great. I could have used the Love Police a few years ago. I could not believe it when they quoted the song on Thats 70s Show. We all could use the Love Police once or twice in our lives. - BurrowRat at the Foxhound.Undecided Which is my favorite, the original version of Love Police with the dual lead vocals and the rock sound, or one of the two dance remixes they did. All I know is radio played this song for a whole year and I could not get enough of it. Saw the band in concert and I was suprised by the number of hit songs they have had. Great band with a lot of imagination. - Chris, LA WeeklyThe Love Police are after you I cannot beleive what I just heard. This song is a total lockdown and I was and still am in total awe. Great lyrics and vocal work. Love the unusual sound of the vocals, how many songs have duo lead vocals. Blows me away. I might be one of the few people out there who has seen this band live and if you get a chance you have to go see them. They almost never tour, but when they do, they explode. Love Police runs the table of being among one of the great rock songs, and the band delivered in concert with the original rock version and then breaking into the dance side. I have never seen or heard anything like it before. - DJ Hawk, Los AngelesCutting Edge, Come to Europe Can Cutting Edge come and tour Europe? Fantastic Group. I have them on my radio show and Internet show and they are getting a lot of phone requests. Amazing sound. Hey, thought I mention, I loved the "Love Police", any copies left? I'll put it into the mix. Cutting Edge has millions of fans in Europe, come on over guys. Amazing Group. - DJ MadmanmaxWho is the real Cutting Edge Are they rock, are they rap, are they dance or are they a ballad band. Who knows and who cares. Saw them in concert and they managed to combine all the different genres into a fun and rockin show. They stoled the show. Cutting Edge is one of the best bands in the world. My only complaint, the band hardly ever tour and I think Its Time. Rock on. - RadioReady Programing, NYCrowd went NUTS, Spun 3 times in 3 hours The Big Cop Mix really made the people party and by the 2nd spin, they were singing the chorus. I caught these guys in concert and they ripped up the place. They did the original version of Love Police and during the main chorus and jam, they broke into the re-mix and the crowd went nuts. They jammed the baby for 15 minutes, steel drums, and all. I have never seen a show like this. Also got off on Judas Of DC, Way to go Cutting Edge - DJ Craig, Los Angeles, CA.Every Time I Try (Dance Remix)Awards! no.10 Best Female Vocals in Dance, all-time no.25 Best Production in Dance, all-time no.13 Rocking Track in Dance, all-time no.19 Best Dance Track in Dance, all-time Best Female Vocals in Dance, week of 7Nov2005 Best Lyrics in Dance, week of 14Nov2005 Best Dance Track overall, week of 14Nov2005 Best Dance Track in Dance, week of 14Nov2005Reviews! groovin Groove kicks in right away. I'm already shaking my body and getting into it. Nice synths and instrumentation sets up a cool vibe. This is kind of like Donna Summers for the 21st century. The singer sounds great and delivers the lyrics nicely. - dogofthemoon from Phoenix, Arizona on 14Dec2005great dance track This is a very well produced track with some great drum and bass. It is very atmospheric and would sound great attached to a piece of film. It is a very good dance track as well and is sung with alot of power. - raysound from Aberdeen Scotland, United Kingdom on 12Nov2005Hi we would like to provide feedback for the single Cutting Edge - Every Time I try. Suprised in Concert Our radio station played Without You by Cutting Edge and even though the song was popular with our audience and the song charted in the US, I was not a big fan of the song or band until I saw them in concert. When they hit the opening bars of Without You, the girls in the audience started screaming so hard, I could not hear the song. Then the audience lit the matches and lifted them in the air and for me the audience, the song hit another higher level. This is a great song for the females and now I love it. - Greg Sumners, DenverDid I ...? When I listen to Without You, my legs get relaxed, my breathing gets heavy, my eyes slowly close, my heart gets pumping and...., WOW, I played this when I spent the night with my boyfriend and it was GREAT and INTENSE. Was it him or Cutting Edge? Who is the guy on vocals? Whoever it is, I will be the girl and he can be my flame. Light my fire. Cant wait to do it with them at their concert. - Guitar Sara, Los AngelesLost I became lost when I heard this song. It left me missing the man that I love (he is in the army and currently in Germany). I made me feel that he was still with me as I heard him inside me saying the lyrics with the song. I cannot wait to share it with him. - Without Him from NYC.F - - - the IRS Awards! I did not get a chance to review your last song, now I get the chance to give you a good review, mostly because now I've heard your other stuff, too. You guys have a cool sound. I love the lead guitar work, the retro rock-and-roll piano works well in the tune, though I'd never expect it to do so. This isn't your best, though. Your other stuff on your website is much better!!! - RayLewis from New Brighton, Pennsylvania on 20Mar2006This has a classic feel I can really feel the classic rock here. I like the ideas presented. Thought the ideas are some one between hairband and thrash to me. This is still has an original feel. And who does not like a song against the IRS at tax time. - 12GaugeFuse from Portland, OregonGood Times Love the outragessness of this song, the arrangements, musicians and the vocals, with out and out delivery that hits the IRS in the face. In your face is what protest music is all about. - Leon of Deadbarbies, Brainerd, MNVenomous Love Affair no.15 Alternative international chartReviews! The cd single of the Cutting Edge Band I find more then good. Nice music good lyrics. - Jaap Hoek rockprogram Cracks (Tuesdayevening 19.00 - 21.00 hours GMT +1)www.alphenstadfm.nlThis single I like very much and have played on my alternative rock program and alternative it is - moves around the genres quite a bit. Found another Cutting Edge CD today called "Every Time I Try" so I will be playing this one too. - Judy Pouliot, 2BBB FMJudas of DC Reviews! Hi Cutting Edge Thanks for sending me your Judas Of DC promo. I went up on your website a few days ago and checked out more of your music. You have a skilled dance remixer! A politicaly fueled song... This promo from Cutting Edge is a short but sweet three track single. Judas DC is an upbeat rock tune. The music is tightly produced. The sounds are reserved and not at all clashy in the mix down. Lively rhythm guitars are backed by a continual stream of wild warm lead guitar. The lyrics are delivered in a spoken style that draws from the early days of rap music. The song is about unfaithful politicians! Hence the title. Straight into a dance remix. Dance Remix One again draws from the early days of hip-hop and electro. The rap vocals are mixed up over a slamming bassline with lashings of old school electronic drums. The compulsive disco clap holds the tune together. Orchestra hits, silky lead synth lines, and the occasional stuttered vocal samples add even more credibility to this definatly retro eighties revival music. This dance remix sits somewhere between the original Detroit House Music sound and current European Electro as heard all over Belgium. A harder tougher mix with a more futuristic soundset would suit the UK ElectroClash scene well. Fatter bass and some dirty drum and synth programming would give the track a realy modern sound for the UK scene. Last up, a compulsive trance remix. Here are the dirty drums and grinding synth sounds. This one bubbles along in a squidgy acid house style. A nice set of sounds. New euphoric tones merge with the house beats. The synths build and grow as the track progresses. It stops as suddenly as it begins with an almighty orchestra hit. The track could do with a moment of breakdown and an intelligent rebuild in the middle to give it more of an authentic club feel. I may well play Dance Remix 2 on one of my weekend electronic culture radio shows although my station tends to go for more breakbeat rather than 4/4 dance music. When I am djing out and about, I often play through a load of hardware effects to add my own signature grunge to the music. Dance Remix One is a likely contender for a dj set! One Love to each and Everybody! - dj excavatorThis was immediately snapped up by the urban music djs. I only heard little bits and there were some fun beats. - Richard Berkley WRPI, Troy 91.5FMBody Talk Awards! no.4 Top 40 no.14 DanceReviews!CUTTING EDGE seems to be an exciting and refreshing new band that we need today when so many of todays bands are far too similar and so many sounding alike or copying one another.CUTTING EDGE seems to have their own style and as ELVIS once said in 1954, "I don't sound like nobody" and certainly the same can be said for CUTTING EDGE and their new single which just happens to be easy to dance to and gives you that fgeel good feeling that so many of todays new pop acts lack. - ASST.
