About Me

My name is Gwil Jones and I am a singer/songwriter from Cornwall in the UK. I guess my music is like the soundtrack to my life. Some people write an autobiography, some people portray their lives photographically and others prefer to consign their experiences to the memory alone.

Me? I write songs.

I write songs to overcome loss and I write songs to alleviate pressure, I write songs to heighten the feeling of happiness and I write songs to subdue the feeling of regret. If I'm ever sitting down, pulling my hair out and wondering how I've got myself in to such a mess, then I write a song to help me resolve the situation. And if, god forbid, there is no particular crisis that day? Then I write about the things that matter most to me.

My biggest single hope, is that the messages in my music do not merely expire as my own problems are negotiated or my own happiness achieved, but that they retain their purpose by helping others to find answers, direction and fresh hopes of their own.

Thank-you for visiting my page and I hope that you enjoy listening to my music :)
