Benny Paladin hails from Nigeria as original Urhobo. He originates from the Okpe local government area of Sapele, in the Delta state . He was born in September, with the aim of being a reggae messanger. He is the founder of “Mallowryder Crewâ€, as well as of the Mallowrythm Sound representing the jungle of Lagos state. All his life has been soaked in music: He started as a choir in his church Gospel Faith Mission Inc.He was only 12 yars old when his pastor made him head of the choirs although he was the youngest. It pushed him to seriously work on his songwriting skills . This is where he got his original inspiration, in Gospel songs and Zion Gate songs. He got exposed mainly to the world of Rhythm and Blues although Hip-Hop was his favourite musical genre nevertheless, his father was an old time singer. He was a music lover when he gave birth to him and he supported Benny’s ambitions by letting him attend Hip-Hop shows and concerts at night. Through those escapades, He got exposed to the world of show business and chose to be a lyrical messenger who will always preach and make people listen.Changing people’s lives with his rhythm became Benny’s primal aim. Every youth around him became inspired because he was the only DJ with a social attitude in his ghetto yard. He constantly made them realise that music was a mission and not for fun or to satisfy their lesser instincts. Music changed a lot of things in Benny’s life in that he made him realise that life was not just a game, but was all about community, reality, and humanity.His first exposure on the mic was in 1992 when he had an opportunity to be part of a talent show in his neighbourhood around the city of Lagos. He won best award(“Best New Artistâ€) of the “Ray Power Grand Slam Talent Hunt†contest organised by the powerhouse of Nigerian radios: Ray Power 100.FM at the Glimses Night club in Lagos. He then decided to move to Festac town in Lagos to pursue his musical ambition. He started to link with a lot of underground MC’s that appreciated his style.In 2002, he took a trip to French speaking Benin Republic, where he met his destiny by pursuing a journey to France. In Benin, he got hooked with Youth Vision Sound System and Reality Crew (from France). Benny then got heavily involved in the sound system business with his Mallowryderz soldiers consisting of Benny Paladin, Habbeyiano, Kaizy, G°, Bone Speak & Virus,Jean Emmanuel,Selecta Stephane, Lilian,Leny, and Selecta Seb. He started to promote Reggae music and became a familiar face to the massive of Afrika.The first hit single titled ‘‘Nah Yu Dive Pass’’ was produced by DJ Snoop Di Damager, of Da Underground Productions. He linked up wth a hip hop label in Anthony Village called Back2black Entertainment few months back and recorded an album titlled BLOOD PRESSURE.
