Anything fun and interestingMemory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose. ~From the television show The Wonder YearsA soldiers christmas....remember this **Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow. My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear, And I crept to the door just to see who was near. Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night, A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight. A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old, Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold. Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled, Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
Friend was in the US Army, he drove a big 5 ton truck,Awhen he'd go to work each night, he'd say, "sweetie wish me luck".Then he would not come home again, 'til sometime the next day, but the thing that bothered me most, was the things some folks would say. Soldier's life is easy, he eats and sleeps and plays, and sometimes he don't fight a war for days and days and days. When I first heard these comments, I was too dumb to understand because I knew, when people had trouble he was there to lend a hand. Then my soldier went to work one day and kissed me good-bye, but little did I realize, that night, I would cry. My soldier gave his life that night, when the bomb hit from below, and I wondered why he'd risk his life, for someone he didn't know. But now I realize, the greatest gift a man could give, is to lay his life upon the line, so that someone else may live. So as we go from day to day, and we pray to God above, Say a prayer for your local US Army, he may save the one you love.***
