Band Members: As a nonperforming songwriter, Linda does not have her own band but hires various artists to record her demos. Artists represented by the songs on MySpace are Tillie Donaldson Sager (winner of the first Gimme The Mic and vocalist for "Fear Got In The Way" and "Till I Had Children of My Own"), Kelly Dean (sax player for the instrumental version of "Till I Had Children of My Own" - check him out on my "friends" list...he's awesome!), and Libby Torrance (vocalist for "Who Will Cry For The Child" and an earlier version of "Till I Had Children of My Own"). Other artists not currently represented on MySpace but who have recorded demos for Linda are Pat Wright (Director of Total Experience Gospel Choir and vocalist for a gospel version of "Who Will Cry For The Child"), Tonya Ferris (vocalist for "It's Up To You" and an earlier version of "Till I Had Children of My Own"), Elisa Lloyd Price (vocalist for "Let Go"), and Denise Ragnone (vocalist for "Every Now and Then"). Songs not displayed on MySpace can be heard on http://www.broadjam.com/lindaolsonScott Anderson did the arrangement for "Fear Got In The Way," and Buzz Smith did the arrangements for "Till I Had Children of My Own.""Till I Had Children of My Own" has been signed by Songcastle Music. The sheet music can be downloaded online at http://www.musicnotes.com. At the present time, the title is listed as "TIL I Had Children of My Own" in the Search window, rather than "TILL." Eventually you will be able to search this title using both spellings (TIL & TILL), but to date it is only listed under "TIL I Had Children of My Own." On this site you can can listen to the first page of the piano arrangement, which is an awesome feature. This music provides a piano arrangement as well as both guitar fret chords and standard chord symbols.
Influences: The artist who has had the greatest influence on Linda's songwriting style has been Barbra Streisand. Linda's style of music is the more classic/traditional pop ballad. When people hear her music, the artists they most often think of (in addition to Barbra Streisand) are Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Whitney Houston and Bette Midler.
Sounds Like: Since Linda is a songwriter (not a performer), her material is performed by multiple artists. Stylistically, her material is suitable for the more classic artists such as Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Bette Midler.
