I am a brand of naturally-aged pilsner beer from Utica, New York. Since 1888, I have been brewed at the West End Brewing Company (today the F.X. Matt Brewing Company). I was the first beer officially sold after ProhibitionMy most famous advertising pals were Schultz and Dooley, a pair of talking beer steins,
who appeared in several television commercials in the 1960s. Many of my commercials depicted two people ending the argument abruptly on ordering a Utica Club beer, leading to the jingle "It's tough to argue over a Utica Club, 'cause they put too much love into it!" Today, I am still being manufactured.
