TAB-D

About Me

NEWS:....2009 will see the release of the one and only TABD album featuring the late BILL MARTEN on bass... This will feature studio recordings made in 2005 and 2006........................................................ ..........................SONG THEMES: diseases, madness, mind control, capitalist conspiracies, funny stuff.... life, the universe, everything.................................................. HISTORY:.................................... The most recent line-up of TABD was Rob (Goldblade / ex-Houndgod), Bill (Inca Babies / ex-Houndgod), and Boz (ex-Flea / Houndgod and various other projects). Sadly Bill took his own life in August 2008. He is badly missed by us all............................. .............Boz has written the songs and has been putting music together since his first band The Incinerators in November 1978. The Incinerators became The Violators, The Discos, Sus, Iced Cobwebs, NoName, Bothsides (to name a few incarnations) and performed live on a number of occasions in village halls and clubs in the West Bershire area. They were known for the outstanding 'Russian Spy' which was a minor cold war punk anthem inspired by Harry Palmer which involved transplanting Oscar Homolka or the like to your local high street on a cold winter's morning. This comes from the healthy imaginations of bored people-watching teenagers... and the flurry of furry hats circa 78-79...Boz came up to his second home Manchester to study at the Poly in 1985, started mixing with musicians and Bohemian types, and settled in the Hulme area rather than his Mum's native Burnage. The band with Spike and Ken down south, together with side projects like the original TAB-D (with 'Rico'/Demot) and Drowning in Pig's Blood (with Pig, Eagal, $urf, Gringo, et al.), petered out and Boz started up Flea with Dubsex roadie Rat (AKAs: Art Carbuncle/Reg Concrete) in 1988. Flea, a grinding combo, experimenting in post Big Black/Killing Joke guitar-sculpture were based in the Boardwalk rehearsal rooms offering a punk rock alternative to the Madchester sound produced by room neighbours Happy Mondays and older Fac funksters A Certain Ratio. Playing gigs with room-mates the Slum Turkeys, Flea jumped around the country between 1989 and 1992: 'Get A Life', 'Golf Show' (Gulf Show), and 'Headshrinker' were among the most memorable ditties. In 1989 Boz was asked by room-mate Harry S to join him, Bill and Ajay in his new band Houndgod With A Tumour formerly the Inca Babies. Rob Haynes became the third Houndgod percussionist (after Ajay and Rat) in 1994 before John Robb asked him to join his post-Membranes punk rock-soul outfit Goldblade. Houndgod demised with being turfed out of the Boardwalk during a revamp in 1996 but Boz and Bill moved on with TAB-D (II) getting Rob in -whenever available- on drums. And that is where we are now! ...WAKE UP! ............................................................ ............................................................ ..................................Here's the only live footage of a TABD gig. This is part 1............. And this is Part 2.................... Here's something amusing if you're into Timelord Rock (TROCK):
