There's this guy at wall street and memorial highway on my way home from work; he's a crossing guard. Everyday he wears a different, often weird looking hat and waves at every car that passes by. He's old, probably in his eighties and has the warm smile and comfortable beard that you can't help but admire. I haven't spoken to him, don't know his name or anything, but his random sense of compassion, at least enough to wave, makes him my hero.
