right now I have a 1971 CB750K1, the coolest sickle to ever hit the road. EVER. I love it. I have had a bunch of old Hondas, but as far as I'm concerned the CB750 is the hottest bike ever, it's like the GTO of motorcycles.
and yes, I do all of the work myself. when I found this bike it was a rusty pile, with apehangers and a biker king/queen seat. I bought her for 40 dollars from the original owner, a 71 year old Viking (Scandinavian Immigrant). I made the cafe style seat on it now, the side mount taillight, top triple tree, etc. with the exception of the direct to front wheel speedo gear speedometer, which is a custom piece by Cycle X. I did all of the mechanical work as well, but have not, as yet, rebuilt the engine. no need, it's a Honda. I did all the painting, metal finishing, pinstriping, etc. the numbers on the side covers are not decals, they are hand painted, as well as the '71 on the front brake caliper. the bare metal is not clear coated, I use Gibbs brand, look it up. best stuff ever. in short I have been living in my garage for the last 6 months. oh, yeah and she's fast as fuck.
UPDATE: head gasket blown, I am rebuilding the engine after all, and I'm going to redo the electrical while at it. Wish me luck, if you care.
