About Me

Welcome to the official profile and blog of Clydex the platypus. Clydex rose to fame as the level-headed platypus at www.fredthemonkey.com when he was brought on my Space Chicken to help keep the site moving along when it became apparent that the others in the house weren’t all that interested in helping out.
As a platypus (and he’ll be the first to tell you that that is indeed what he is), he is naturally a rather solitary and shy kind of dude. It is for this reason that he’s enlisted the help of www.fredthemonkey.com music director BDDB to keep this page active. Clydex enjoys hearing from everybody on MySpace but his instinctive solitary nature has kept him from developing the communication skills needed to respond to everybody directly.
Clydex was born in Saskatchewan, Canada of Australian born parents that moved before he was born. Their hopes of providing their future children with a fun, educational environment to grow up in was well-intended, however quickly squashed upon arrival in Saskatchewan. After following the highway for 2.5 days, they eventually ran across civilization and settled down on a nice river bank to make their new home.
Clydex became interested in computer work after trying for several years to find anything at all to do in Saskatchewan. He doesn't speak much of his childhood, but we know that he came to the US in 2002 seeking employment and terrain that wasn't as flat as a tabletop. After a good bit of nomadic wandering, he met Space Chicken in the cereal section of a grocery store when the two of them reached for the last box of Chocoloopies. After some discussions as to who should get it (Clydex wanted to arm wrestle for it but, well, that just would not have been very fair) they decided to go to the fredthemonkey.com house to split the box. It was there (while trying to keep the box away from SCEB) that SC learned that Clydex could be of some help with updating the website. The rest…is history...

You scored as Bass. You are the String Bassist. You are the rhythmic thump behind the string orchestra, much like the drummer in the band, and despite what some violinists may say, you are the most necessary to an orchestra of all the instruments. You keep those scatterbrained violinists, violists, and cellists in time. Bassists are great because they are able to groove in jazz and rock music as well as classical, and string bassists make excellent bass guitarists in rock and roll bands.
