We are a trio called J.D. Combs and the Soul Stealers, lookin' to be one of the best new bands in San Diego. We are a fierce combination of blues and classic rock; We play with great style and lyrics laced with sattire and irony. With our guitars, bass, and drumsticks in hand, J.D. Combs, Paul Hovey, and Brandon Josefosky are our names - tell your friends.
JD Combs and the Soul Stealers was established in late summer of 2004 as an answer to the good, yet lacking momentum, band Gorbachev, which included JD Combs and drummer Brandon Josefosky. With a new found urge to playing something different, JD suggested to Brandon and friend Paul Hovey, whom had just picked up bass, to create a new band which would ultimately become "JD Combs and the Soul Stealers." Starting out as just a jam band, they played many covers while waiting to begin writing songs. The first song to be an original would be JD's version of a simple classic blues riff which became "Don't Go to Chicago." JD has written a handful of other songs with a distinct style and variety of sound. The band's presence has only been felt by a few but hopefully soon the band will be felt by all. So keep your ears open and always remain on the watch for JD Combs and the Soul Stealers!
