About Me

M-O-O-N, that spells Claudius, Cat, or C...the trinity of my names.
"Your brain is a font of amazing." - Little
"Personally I think you're the most gorgeous boy in the world but that's my opinion (which is always right)" - Armand
"Claudius is a broadway show in a human form (though I think we're ALL trying to figure out just exactly which one)" - Armand
"Are you applying for a job at the bank or something?" - Mum

Claudius is a twenty-two year old renaissance man currently located in Watertown MA, having recently acquired his BFA at the Art Institute of Boston as a major of Animation and Illustration. When not spending sleepless nights building puppets, slaving away on various animations, Claudius enjoys strolling through the Boston Common on beautiful days, frequenting museums, seeking out current events, and adventuring with friends to points beyond (within the limitations of public transportation). Engaging in numerous artistic endeavors, Claudius has worked in various forms of animation (his favorite being stop motion), puppet construction, sequential art, fashion and costume design, concept creation and character design.
Born on a farm in Upstate NY in the town of Hartwick, Claudius lived with his fourteen barn cats, expansive gardens, and the ruins of a one-room schoolhouse. Here he learned the importance of horseback riding, tractor driving, animal care, how to avoid getting eaten alive by insects and the importance of a cold cellar and functional plumbing.
At the age of nine, Claudius relocated to the suburbs of Providence known as Cranston RI. It was in an apartment he grew to be convinced was haunted that Claudius began the awkward years of social and environmental re-adjustment. It was here, despite the teasing and sometimes harsh harassment most youth experience that he went on to make some of the best friends he has acquired thus far in life and began seriously considering art a driving force in his life thanks to mentor and teacher Michael Watson.
Entering the eighth grade, Claudius and Mum were able to afford their very own home in Cranston and departed from the apartment with its two way mirrors and closets that locked on the inside (brr, creepy) to settle in a space all their own about nine blocks away on Dixwell Avenue. Noted Dixwell was between Philmount and Holburn. Someone had a sense of humor.
It was half way through his highschool career when Claudius began to open himself to the world without fear. The obscurity and insecurity were no longer factors worth embracing and the step forward into confidence is one Claudius will only continue at a sprinting pace to this day. Finding it acceptable and admirable to be true to yourself no matter how flamboyant, eccentric, or unique you are is a message he strives to share with others still struggling to love themselves for who they are.
It was just as Claudius was accepted to and began his Freshman year at the Art Institute of Boston in Cambridge MA that he and his mother sold their home to move to Massapequa NY to live with and care for his grandmother as well as to put the profits from the sale of their home towards Claudius' education. For this, despite the preemptive unease, he is thankful every day. Now Claudius will be entering into his senior and final year at AIB to graduate with a BFA and set himself upon the world as a teacher, designer, animator, lover, and curiosity as the rare bird he fancies himself to be.
He one day wishes to own both a poodle and a vespa. He will never own a pair of flip-flops.
